I really liked the Giants draft. Gettleman came as advertised with his selections.

I also know the Lauletta selection is a little controversial, but I love it. I think he has a lot of potential. I know the arm strength is a bit of a concern, but that can be developed. For the people that support Webb, I don't think it's doom and gloom for him. It's two young guys with a lot of potential that can battle it out for that future spot to take over once Eli hang'em up.

I also think it's smart to take QB's to develop as backups or to trade later on.

If we got what we needed with other picks and Barkley ends up being a superstar, I live with that pick.
My fear is that Barkley is another Reggie Bush, and we are betting the house on Eli in the near future. BTW, Machinehead, you should watch Lauretta's highlight/film tape. The guy is exactly what you were saying about the QB position, doesn't have a good arm, but has vision, antecipation, throws into tight vision. I'm higher on him than on Webb.

Sounds like he could be another Wilson or Prescott. Can't throw the ball through a wall but he makes "NFL passes."

Obviously that's absolute best case scenario and I'm not trying to get ahead of myself, but he's the perfect mold of a late-round QB.

Let Webb and Lauletta battle it out. They will have time to develop and learn ala the Patriots way of QBs under Brady.

Loved the Giants draft. The picks following Barkley just made sense at each spot. They had a plan and seemed to follow it.

I haven't read many articles about the draft because the only one I saw was sports mobile and they had us at a B and that made me livid so I refused to look at any other opinions lol. We drafted an elite athletic talent at RB, filled a hole perfectly with Hernandez, and then continued to address areas of need throughout the draft with athletic powerful players that have potential. As much doubt as I have about Lauletta becoming anything, I love that we took a risk and if nothing else he provides great competition for Webb. This was a great draft.

He's fantastic after contact. And 20 pounds isn't just about running people over.

He's not a guy who is going to churn out yardage between the tackles though.

Bouncing it to the outside is something that will not fly in the NFL if its the only thing you succeed at. The guys hitting him in the NFL are going to be bigger and faster than the ones he faced in college.

I liked the Jets draft. I would have liked them to grab some guys for the offensive line but they clearly plan to address that through other means, and when you're 5-11 you can't plug all your holes at once. All the picks were reasonable and provided decent to very good value. I see most people grading it in the B to A- range which seems reasonable.

Rotoworld gave the Giants a C-, Jets and Niners the only teams in the A range, thought it seems the grading curve was a bit strict.

They killed because of the Barkley pick, all depends on that for you to give a good or bad give. Just read that the Giants can't pick the 5th option tag on BArkley without killing the cap, it will cost U$ 18 millions.
