Who are the other Jets fans on these boards? And what do y'all think on Darnold? I'm indifferent honestly, I really liked Chubb or Nelson for NYJ. With that said, Darnold was the best option out of all the QB's, no?

If the Jets had selected Chubb or Nelson i would have lost my mind. That would have been ridiculous. Not bc of the players themselves - both great players - because of the circumstances.

It’s a crapshoot but I’m happy. I’m confident in Bates working with Darnold.

Plenty of good Tackles are going to be left for round 4. Well played by Gets where as I would have jumped in the third.

I expect him to take a tackle and a corner and off we go.

I was a little skeptical at first, but he seems like the best choice. All of the QB's had their flaws, but his seem to be the easiest to rectify. If the Jets picked anyone other than a QB, I was hoping for Barkley. But the way the chips fell, I'm glad they went with Darnold.

I was anti-Barkley this entire time but I’ve warmed up to it a little now, especially after getting Hernandez in the 2nd. Still worried about Eli and life after Eli but we’ll have to deal with that down the road. But with a line of Solder-Hernandez-Jones-Omameh-??? isn’t all that bad, and the line doesn’t need to be elite for these weapons to have success. Still wanted a QB, but I like how the offense is shaking out so far, hoping for Crosby in the 4th.

Love Lorenzo Carter at 3, don’t know much about Hill, but taking a guy named BJ with the 69th pick is hysterical to me since I have the maturity of a 12 year old.

Eli will have more time this season in the pocket then last with the Oline (and Barkley blocking when not running)

Defenses will have to adjust differently to the Giants next season with the threat of Barkley as well.

Go back to when Namath was one of the original white shoe guys.
I wanted Rosen due to highest ceiling.
More negatives, but not enough to thumbs down
Did not want the undersized Mayfield
field size = same
everyone else = bigger, faster, etc
harder to prevail consistently at NFL level
also not sure way he slings it he can be accurate enough for NFL
Darnold is fine.
Safe, reliable. Think O'Brien/Pennington possible decision making/upside soon w/a bit experience, but with a better arm than them.
Not a super runner, but enough to avoid problems.
Can't do it all himself, but a solid part of the solution not the problem
Think drafting Lee first round 2? yrs ago a mistake, has speed but not enough else, esp for LB, should have taken Paxton Lynch. Not sure why they are doing musical chairs at signalcaller in Denver, but if he's available cheap, would like him here. Maybe they take Bridgewater and his experience w/cheap 1 yr deal + we add actual and conditional picks.
Sign Dez Bryant 1 yr
Sign Gates who Bolts will not renew, forget TE, as a de facto flanker. Also 1 yr.
More obv., but for starters I go there.
Petty if he wants can taxi squad in case of injury, I see him as holder type if he has the hands, good scrambling, the guy you risk when you don't want your stud pick or 40ish yr old getting creamed.
What's his name, the other guy, waste of a good pick, gtfo

Up next come on let it be Crosby get flowers out of here
If Bridgewater not to QB crowded Broncs, maybe a cheap insurance fit for Giants for Flowers?
Flowers needs work, etc but Jets can use more big OLs.

Honestly, I may have just overlooked Hill on NC State's insanely stacked defensive line. He was almost assuredly overshadowed since it seems most out there like him more than I do.

I didn’t watch them at all but apparently they were a really special group

Yesterday’s results have made me feel a lot better about the Barkley pick. I’m still worried about the cap implications. And Webb is going to need a lot of reps, because I’m not buying that Eli is going to play for ‘another five years’.

Eli's cap number will be off the books sooner than later, we have just Odell and Collins to sign that have big numbers. I think we will be ok regarding the cap. Ken Abrams is really good with that stuff.

Silver lining about this draft: Eli has no excuses to play poorly this season, show up or get out type of season for him.

If Eli plays for another 5 years the Giants will have another top 5 pick in that time and should be able to draft his replacement. Personally I think he is more likely to play out his contract and not much more.

Well, I was wrong. They did draft a QB, question mark is arm strengh, maybe he can be a Kirk Cousin type in the future.

I'm not sure but isn't that bellow average these days?
