The Bruins only won 1 cup and it was 8 seasons ago. Who knows where the Kings will be in 2022. I'm much happier with getting the two cups, but you do you.

So just because we won two Cups means we have to suck forever after? Okay.

Boston retooled correctly. They’re still contending eight years later. That’s exactly the point. The Kings are going to be bad for a long, long time, including 2022. In fact, 2022 will be the worst year. We’ll have like five players over the age of 34 making $30+ million.

No, the Kings put together two cup wins during their window and the Bruins only won 1. The Kings tried to get a 3rd and it didn't work out and they are now dealing with the fallout. Tough shit, you take risks and sometimes they don't pan out. The Kings got 2 Stanley Cups out of taking risks and I am happy they did. As for 2022, you have no idea if 2022 will be there worst year, the Kings can just as easily pull off a quick turnaround with their prospects coming online. As for cap space, the Bruins have over 45 million tied up in players 30+ and they seem to be your ideal re-tool as opposed to the way you just know the Kings are going to do it.

Idk I dont like seeing upsets. I rather watch the best play against the best. I mean other then when we were the underdog

I think Columbus has an excellent shot at taking out the Bruins.

I wasn’t overly impressed with them this series. They can be had.

What pick do we get now from Toronto now that they didn't proceed?

My understanding is that it is at worst 24th, at best 20th. In order for it to be 20th we need BOS, WAS, NYI, and SJ to not make the conference finals (so we need Washington to lose tomorrow since NYI await the winner).

edit: forgot about division winners

So with the three division winners already out, the absolute worst the Toronto pick will be is 24th.

If San Jose loses tonight, it would be 23rd; that's not to say you HAVE to root for Vegas to win, but if you root for the Sharks to win, the Kings would benefit from them being out by round 2.

All those penalties Vegas is getting called on weren't called in our series. That last one, Quick would've been called for the trip.

If you are talking 2021/22, the Kings would potentially have Brown and Carter in the final year of their deals. I’m thinking one of them would be bought out/traded by then.

Quick would have 2 years left.

Kopitar and Doughty multiple years.

Phaneuf would just be a memory. Kovy is off the books too.

Also, by then the cap will likely be close to $100 million so they will be alright.

2-0 Knights. Excuse me while I puke.
You know they're going to the SCF again...

How did Fleury all of a sudden become so good again after he was beach ball Fleury in Pittsburgh? Wonder if Pittsburgh does a redo if they have a chance to trade Murray and keep Fleury.

Trading for Lucic was not taking a risk. Holding on to Mike Richards was not a risk. Re-signing Gaborik to a seeetheart retirement deal was not taking a risk. Signing a 35 year old Kovalchuk to a retirement contract was not a risk. This was poor management through and through. It’s amazing how incapable you are of just admitting the Kings have been poorly managed since 2014.

The Bruins won a championship, retooled correctly, and went right back to contention. The Kings won two championships, did not retool correctly, and just had their worst record in a decade.

Why is any of this controversial to you? You’re really criticizing me for wishing the Lombardi regime had properly retooled after 2014?

This is why I want them out tonight. Too bad San Jose is f***ing it up as usual.
