Sochi is playing Loko in game 2. Pretty evenly matched teams. It's not NHL quality but the game is very entertaining with a lot of playoff based intensity. Exciting to watch.

I'm not sure how the compensation is payed out if the player is not under contract, but a player in Sweden under contract can sign with a NHL club at any time.
Anyone know how much the "selling" club is recieving if a player sign an NHL deal?

I think it's currently $250,000 to the European club that is losing the player. This applies to most of the leagues except the Swiss NLA and the KHL.

The current fee is $240k for the first 10 players signed by NHL teams in a season, and $325k for every Swedish player after that.

That money is divided among the teams that player was part of in the 4 seasons prior to signing.

That is just the agreement between the NHL and SIHA (Swedish hockey association). They have different agreements, and different numbers with other countries. My understanding is that the following countries have a transfer agreement with the NHL:

Sweden
Finland
Germany
Czech Republic
France
Slovakia
Denmark
Norway

There is no transfer agreement with the KHL, but the NHL and the KHL have an agreement to honor contracts in the other league when it comes to signing players.

PS: In the transfer agreement from 2007 until 2012, the amount was the same for each league ($200.000). With that amount confirmed for the SHL to be raised to $240.000, I assume that amount is set for each country that is included in the transfer agreement.

Luleå playing now, good 1st period for Lundkvist. Luleå had issues moving the puck but Lundkvist did just that effectively.

Edit: Less ice time in the 2nd and he was pretty anonymous, nothing good or bad.
