Lulea wins 2-1 on a late goal.

Lundkvist gave up the puck which resulted in a dangerous chance against on one shift, but besides that he played pretty well in the third.

2 assists for Rykov so far in 2-2 game. The game goes to OT. That 2nd helper was fabulous btw.

Rykov was clearly number 1 defenseman for Sochi in this game with over 23 minutes of ice time. The next closest skater (on either team) is more than 3 minutes less.

Well, he was the top2 defenseman for the team all season long, so it's no surprise.

He wasn’t top2 defenseman unless I missinterpret your meaning. He was behind another LD Jokipakka, playing on the second pair and barely any PP time all season long so more like top4 or top3 if you prefer.

Almtuna (Ragnarsson) won 4-3 today which is a HUGE win in their fight against relegation. They are now tied with Tingsryd in both points and GD. Almtuna holds the head-to-head tiebreaker winning 3 of the 4 games against Tingsryd this season

Well, as far as I remember, Karlsson and Burns play on different pairs on San Jose, does it mean, Karlsson is a 2nd pair defenseman? Rykov is the 2nd best defenseman on Sochi... or rather the 2nd most trusted defenseman.

Alex Nunn really high on Yegor Rykov. He has been pretty good since being traded

Both Reunanen and Rykov have evolved from a 7th D-man into a first pair D-man by being traded to a different play off team. It's not as if they were traded to bottom teams either.

Both just needed a chance, and they made the most of it. The similarities between these 2 are eerie

If just one of them reaches their ceiling and become a top 4 NHL defenseman then that is a huge win for the Rangers with the plethora of defense prospects we have in the system. If both then its a grand slam. Rykov kinda reminds me of Orlov. But again those two then you have Lundkvist, Miller, Hajek, Lindgren, Keane, Gross, and Ragnarsson. Feel like I am missing one more in the system that has some prominence.

But thats 9 defenseman in the system with a chance to become regulars in the NHL, whether its a #6 or whatever.

also omitting Day.
He's just a first year pro, just turned 21, had earned 'exceptional' status for OHL
Some here dismiss him, but he is as likely to have a decent NHL career as many of these guys.

There are rational arguments for downgrade projections for Crawley, Bigras, Gilmour, OGara, Kjellberg, Raddysh, and Bergman, but y'never know...
Colin Miller was drafted 151st, Ben Hutton 147th ... just to randomly sample the '12 draft for late D who've earned NHL regular status

I am not as confident as some that all of Rykov, Reunanen, Sjalin will give NA hockey a shot.
It could be remarkable deep pro D pipeline in 2-3 years

Focusing on the EU prospects here:

I could see Själin staying another 2 years, and Reunanen another year. Even Rykov might stay. R&R have played 1 season on the top pair. No need to rush. And with so many D-men already in the system, what are they really going to do?

Rykov could come over for prospect camp, since he's a free agent this summer, and decide to go back to Russia for another year. I am sure Sochi would like to have him for another season. Reunanen is loved by the staff, players and fans in Rauma. He doesn't have to come over just yet. We own his rights until 2020, Själin's rights only expire in 2021.

There’s over 3 min of ice time difference between the Finn and Rykov but you are entitled to think whatever you need (again when I read your post I interpreted “top2” as a “1st pair”).

BTW, I’ve been really high on Rykov for awhile, even before this season I considered him ahead of Hajek and Lindgren in terms of the Rangers prospects depth.

Rykov should come over ASAP.

Hes played enough over seas and can compete for a spot next year provided that the FO/Coaches are willing to use Staal as an extra.

Gross scoreless. He's at 0-2-2 in his last 16. After contributing early, his offense has fallen off a cliff. He's only going to improve upon last year by a few points.

Keane was on pace for similar production, but the trade to London has him playing a greatly reduced role and he will likely now fall short of his totals from last year. He's scoreless and -2 in a wild game that London leads 7-6.

Barron had an assist.

Neither Wall nor Huska started. Wall is probably splitting time from here out. Huska lost his starting gig.

Nanne has 1+1 in the third period. 5 goals, 7 assists, and 12 points are each career highs.

Simon Kjellberg plays in the USHL for Dubuque. They're in the third period.

Hughes and Victoria start their playoff series against Alberni Valley in just a bit.
