Striggling with production, I guess I should say. With a reduced role it's definitely somewhat to be expected.

If Keane has been able to create a niche for himself and calm his game down to be more of a defensive support player that bodes well for his development. Going from a guy who was relied on for more offense to a guy relied on for more defense should prove his flexibility and overall talent level is pretty high

Thanks, I look forward to it. I know you've mentioned he's banged up, so I'm not trying to criticize him. I just really want to see a season where he's dominant start to finish.

No I defnitely agree with you. Freshman year he had the stretch to start the season and this year he was almost as good in the same time frame then looked dominant in January. So far in March and April he hasn't really stepped up so I'm hoping the bye gets guys healthy and he can be in a position to succeed.

Also as previously mentioned Union plays a pretty open and offensive style so it should be a back and forth game. Barron has thrived in space while he's struggled a bit in the tighter checking games. He should play well this weekend since he had 3G in 2GP against them this year.

Cornell lost last night 3-2. If they lose tonight they will be knocked out of the ECAC playoffs.

Being ranked #10 are they on the bubble of making the tournament with a loss at this point?

Virta and Orebro beat Mora 4-1, but more imporant... Brynas lost to Linkoping!!!

Orebro is now in a play-off spot with 1 game to go!

Orebro made the playoffs even though they lost their final game (Brynas lost too). 1st round of playoffs for teams 6-10 starts on Saturday. Teams 1-6 get the first round bye (including Lundkvist’s Lulea).

Ranking doesn't matter in college hockey. It's almost entirely based on the pairwise rankings. Cornell dropped to 15 with the loss if they lose tonight they're almost definitely out but it's not guaranteed.

As for Barron's performance last night he was pretty good but had no finish including two chances right in front of the net that probably should've been goals. It was like that for the whole team play well win the possession battle and lose the game on some shitty goals. He's definitely gotten better at faceoffs and his work-rate and defensive effort were much better than they have been the last few weeks. Looked healthy too.

Also he was named 1st-Team All-Ivy and a finalist for ECAC defensive forward of the year which he won't win. My guess based on this is he'll be 2nd team All-ECAC.

Barron is exactly what you want in a late round pick. Sometimes if a kid is really good at one or two things and hasn't really grown yet, or dominates inferior competition, let them marinate at the NCAA or in Europe for a few years.

It's been talked about before but what is the deal with Reunanen's contract status for next season? And Virta as well? Do they retain rights? Both seem like they should be brought over. Reunanen seems like one of those guys who could translate really well in the NHL if given the chance and be a big part of this team's core for the next serious run.

So since Heinola is a low 1st rd possibility our guy Reunanen could be a steal from the late rounds.

I should also point out that Barron plays an absolute shit ton of minutes. With the media timeouts that they have now, Barron will sometimes get double-shifted. I wish they had it available but he must've played over 20 minutes.
