Actually I watched all those games and reported back to this board daily on it but you’d have to actually pay attn to know that

Yeah this was more of a commentary on you not watching Igor yet feeling the need to weigh in on whether he played well or didn't based on the box score.

The team needs other positions, not Goalies. I wouldn't pick goes the first 4/5 rounds. Maybe grab one in rounds 6 or 7.

It's tough to peg.

For example, TSN had him at 53.

Could he have been there in the third round? Perhaps, but I don't know if it's a given. And for the Rangers, who had traded New Jersey's second round pick to move up and take Miller, there might have been a concern that he wasn't going to be there at 70.

Keeping in mind, if they wait and they take him at 70, it increases the odds that Ragnarsson or Keane isn't picked in that round by us.

So everything is connected in a weird way.
Right. I'm not suggesting he WOULD have been available in the third, just that based on the way the draft unfolded, he almost certainly would have been gone in the third.

I actually followed the goalies somewhat because I figured we'd take one. As I've said, Skarek was the one I wanted. Then we could have had Skarek, Keane, plus someone like Wilde, Drury, Ishakov or Groulx. Of course, at the expense of Ragnarsson who I like. But at the end of the day it is what it is.

If Bode Wilde turns into a star it's gonna be 3 years of McIlrath-Tarasenko talk all over again.

Depends.

If Kravtsov is more successful than Whalstrom, and if Miller ends up being more dangerous than Dobson, I don't think things will be too bad.

Wilde has a lot of skills, but he also has a lot of question marks. He wasn't as coveted as a Tarasenko or a Getzlaf, and we're usually a little more forgiving with picks that come later.

If they can get a goalie in the later round who will marinate in the NCAA or Europe for a 3-4 years, fine, they have enough picks. But no need for a goalie in rounds 1-3.

Keane had 2 assists and was +3.

Lakatos played in another game, I think that's 4 in a row for him. He has 1 assist in that time and is +1 with 10 PIM.

hadn't noticed before, that EliteProspects has an "In The System" tab

quick easy way to get to each prospect's stats/history/info page

kinda funny how they sort - by total season points, combining across all teams/leagues

New York Rangers at eliteprospects.com

I prefer the depth chart-page
They're both interesting, but I don't really care for either. For instance on the "In the System," I don't need to know about Beleskey, Brickley, Tokarski, etc. And then the depth chart isn't really right, saying the C depth is Zibanejad-Strome-Chytil-Howden-Andersson-Nieves-etc., which is obviously incorrect.

I prefer my tables. :D

I meant more for a quick overview.

The site is evolving so much. If you pay for premium you could look at free agency and look into where they could potentially be signing. They're doing a lot!!

They are. They started publishing original content. Newsletters. Before that they started the job finder thing for guys to find jobs in foreign leagues. There's a lot of info. I don't know if there's a large enough demographic to support it all, but we'll see.

but what continues to be maddeningly bizarre - using the EP Android app and conducting a Search,
the sequence of returned results seems nonsensical,
they present names spelled similarly, but not identical to search-name, ahead of matching names,
players with identical names might be many rows apart,
i have not determined a logic to it, not recency or league or country or anything else i checked

Frolunda wins 2-0.

NL played a very good game. Smart reads, good puck movement, and solid defensively. One of the Frolunda players tried to push him around after a whistle and NL pushed back harder, I liked seeing that.

Btw, even though he's getting older and slowed down a bit, Joel Lundqvist is still playing good hockey.

He looks a lot like Hank, is there any resemblance? /s
