You dont trade for Johansson to plug him on the 3rd line

The third one with Cehlarik instead of Backes.

I know they won’t do it, but this is what i’d do.

Marchand Bergeron heinen
Cehlarik krejci pastrnak
Johansson Coyle debrusk

I know they will put mojo with krejci and debrusk and I don’t mind that, but I don’t see how the 3rd line can be effective without a shooter.

edit: Scratch that. They actually think Backes is a solution  this frickin team

I like it. But I agree, that it's unlikely.

I also agree that the 3rd line won't be effective without a shooter. Coyle, Johansson, Cehlarik, Heinen... they're all pass-first types.

I don’t care what they do up until the playoffs, but this is what I’d like to see when the time comes...

Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta
DeBrusk-Krejci-Coyle
Nordstrom-Mojo-Heinen
Wagner-Kuraly-Backes
Acciari/Cehlarik

I guess MoJo prefers center and just came off doing well with two kids in NJ.

I want Backes in, in the playoffs. I want him digging in front. I want that big hard fought difference making goal. Subtracting Acciari just removes redundancy and gives that line a little better shot at production. And the vet leadership aspect plays too.

This top nine has a bit of everything. Shooters, play making, and solid two way play. Helps that both Coyle and MoJo can play different positions and can present match up issues against opponents.

So many line combination with Cehlarik, Nordstrom and Backes vying for the same spot in the line-up once Pasta is back.

There is going to be injuries

And Unfortunately

Pasta may not be ready to play until end of March

I don't know at what position.... but mojo should be on the 3rd line. Marchand, Krejci and Pasta can deal with controlled carries on the first two lines. Need someone that can do something beyond dump and chase on the third line, too.

Is that a new diagnosis? I thought he wouldn’t be evaluated for two weeks after his injury? Maybe I missed the medical report.

Yeah Donny said he will be in a cast for approx 2 weeks. Then rehab, splinter

Its prob going to take a month

Third one has the highest potential. Maximizes our talent, especially Heinen. Love that third line too, with the chance to swap Backes for Cehlarik or Nordstrom if necessary.

The next 2-3 weeks

Marchand-Bergeron-Heinen
DeBrusk-Krejci-Johansson
Cehlarik-Coyle-Backes
Kuraly-Acciari-Wagner

Playoffs

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Krejci-Johansson
Heinen-Coyle-Backes
Kuraly-Acciari-Wagner

If you can't get Backes going playing with these players replace him with Cehlarik.

from the Devils board, asked if he ever lined up on the right:

Welcome to this cesspool. No he was a LW almost exclusively on the 2nd line. His center and RW were usually a rotation of Zacha, Bratt, and towards the end, Hischier. I don’t think he lined up with Hall at any point this year

Krejci will be keeping Pasta and Heinen will likely then stay with Bergy:

Forwards:
Marchand-Bergeron-Heinen
DeBrusk-Krejci-Pasta
Johannson-Coyle-Backes
Kuraly-Acciari-Wagner

Reserve Forwards
Nordstrom, Cehlarik, Stempniak

Defense (would prefer to see):
Chara - Carlo
Grzelcyk - McAvoy
Krug - Miller
Reserve Defense
Moore-Kampfer

Rask
Halak
