Little correction 75 points for Brook.
damn 1 point shy of the MJ record by a D. His secondary assist was removed as well tonight.
Some of the names on that list are a bit underwhelming. I guess we have to temper our expectations in regards to Brook.Best D scoring WHL since 2008-2009:
Connor Hobbs 85 pts
Brendan Kichton 85 pts
Paul Postma 84 pts
Stefan Elliot 81 pts
Brendan Kichton 81 pts
David Quenneville 80 pts
Shea Thedore 79 pts
Josh Brook 75 pts
PPG wise:
Kale Clague 1.31 ppg
Travis Sanheim 1.31 ppg
Jonathon Blum 1.28 ppg
Josh Brook 1.27 ppg

Plus most should take into account how good he looked at the camp. He looked like a pro for the most part already.Let's put the games in there:
Connor Hobbs 85 pts 67 games
Brendan Kichton 85 pts 71 games
Paul Postma 84 pts 70 games
Stefan Elliot 81 pts 71 games
Brendan Kichton 81 pts 64 games
David Quenneville 80 pts 70 games
Shea Thedore 79 pts 70 games
Josh Brook 75 pts 59 games
Every player that scored more than him in the last 10 years had 5-11 more games than he did which is why they are not in the PPG section.

Suzuki isn't going to be a center at the next level and Jake Evans/Vejdemo both need playing time too, it just 100% make sense to have him on the wing.
Who knows, but he essentialy lost a year of development to injuries, it would be wiser to leave him in Finland to develop. Post a ppg season then come over, just like Lekhonen did.Is Ikonen coming to America?
Yeah definitely the PPG section looked better. Sanheim is working out pretty good, right? Theodore put up his points as an 18 y/o though, but he's a pretty good D-man. And Clague I think is a decent prospect, right?Let's put the games in there:
Connor Hobbs 85 pts 67 games
Brendan Kichton 85 pts 71 games
Paul Postma 84 pts 70 games
Stefan Elliot 81 pts 71 games

Definitely he looks good. Just a good thing to remember that it's a tough transition to the NHL. But definitely I'm excited about Brook.that never is a bad thing to do but in the case of Brook vs some of the players on the list, he doesn't have any major holes in his game. He's got the physical tools of size, skating, speed, mobility. He's got the offensive tools clearly, he plays a solid defensive game. He's got the IQ, effort, will finish his checks. There's a lot to like, not to say that he doesn't have things he needs to work on and he needs to add mass, strength but nothing that is what I would call an issue, just natural progression for someone his age. I'd like to see him work on his defensive game a bit, not that there's any real problems there either imo.
For me he's our top prospect, best hope of being a legit top pairing/highest upside prospect. I have ranked him 2nd as I just didn't think it was right to rank him over a kid that had just put up 196 pts in the OHL at 17/18. Last year I had him at 2 behind Poehling but it was very close, if he had more then 3 goals I would have put him at 1st.
5 points now.Oshawa up 3-0.
McShane with a goal and an assist so far. His 33rd goal of the year.
Or defensive play, another thing that Brook does well.If a defence prospect scored at the same pace as Brook and had no NHL impact it would be because of either a lack of size or a lack of speed (more than likely both). Brook is lacking in neither.
Is Ikonen coming to America?
His only weakness imo is that he isnt some Burns-like offensively. Hes great and even elite at everything he does but not God-like like Burns and Karlsson. Obviously he wont end up as them but lets hope for a consistent 50 point D outta Brook who plays both ways. AKA the perfect #2 who can be counted on as the #1.Or defensive play, another thing that Brook does well.
Or physical play, another thing that Brook does well.
Brook has no weaknesses and he will make the NHL, we know he can fly but...

Thats cool and all but would have been nice to break MJ's (as in Moose Jaw) team record. He definitely deserved it.Best D scoring WHL since 2008-2009:
