It sucks when Graves did all he could to make the club, but someone like Mark ****ing Alt is still with the big club just because he has limited NHL experience. I am not mad and I wasn't expecting Graves to make the club, just not sure that's fair on him.

Sounds like they're going to start playing the top guys the rest of preseason. I'm sure they'd rather have Alt getting scatched and Graves in Loveland getting ready for the Eagles season.

I'm a little surprised Dries is still up.

Dries is everything Sakic wants the build the team towards; tenacious, hard worker, first to pucks, and fast (since he's small). He probably doesn't make the team, but I do agree that I am also surprised he hasn't been cut yet. E: I wonder if he's up due to all the muscle strains?

If the Avs go with 13 forward, 8 d-men, and 2 goalies there is 1 spot available between 4 forwards (Kamenev, Dries, O'Connor, and Toninato) and 2 spots available between 5 d-men (Alt, Barberio, Lindholm, Timmins, Warsofsky).

If that is true I'd say Kamenev makes the team, Barberio makes the team, and then either Alt or Lindholm makes the team. Timmons hasn't been reassigned yet but he's clearly not going to make the NHL club either due to concussion issues.

If they go with 7 d-men then Barberio likely makes it and the rest don't.

Too bad Kaut went down now. Would’ve liked to see him in the televised game tomorrow night. Did they have to get him back for eagles training camp?

Hoping Graves isnt claimed. Think if he's out #8 or #9 Dman this year we've got some real strong Defensive depth.

Loveland is gonna have a fun team to watch this year. A lot of potentially future Avs on the team.

Maybe they could've given Kaut a game or two but from the little I saw of him, he looks like he needs some more time. AHL is probably the best place for him right now.

Will we have to watch Wilson screw up chances on a scoring line again? Ghetto isn't practicing today so he could take his spot on the PP but Wilson still might be the favourite to play with Jost and Kerfoot, assuming those two are going to be on the second line.

Just jam Wilson in front of the net.

I’m sure EJ will be back on that 2nd unit once Bednar realizes no one else in that group can gain entry to the zone.

I think I'd rather swap Jost and Compher/Wilson on the two units. I think Jost's hands could be a valuable asset on getting zone entries for that second unit... cause it honestly looks pretty rough. Girard skating it in or dump and chase look like the only options to me for the 2nd unit as it stands. woof.

I'd like to see Kam given a shot on the 2nd PP. He at least has some puck skills. And if Ghetto is in the lineup, he should be there too. I'd swap out Barrie with Sammy G as well, just because I think he fits the top unit better and he and Mack can hand off for one-timers. My units:

Landeskog
Mackinnon - Jost - Rantanen
Girard

Soderberg
Compher - Kamenev/Ghetto - Kerfoot
Barrie

If Barrie plays like he did last year on the PP I don’t want him bumped down at all.
