Lewis, Clifford and Thompson are stealing ice time from more capable players. Lewis, Clifford, Thompson meet King, Shore and Nolan.

I see that Jumbo Joe is on IR. A special thanks to Sharks for signing him instead of the LA. Not much is left in that tank.

Glad to see Clifford sitting out for some actual talent. I was pissed reading this thread that someone said Wagner is scratched lol.


God, the Quick situation, that is brutal man. You knew he was going to fall apart very soon after those long term injuries.

Hopefully Cal is ready to take his place. Soon.

Still dumb, as you know he's going to see 6 minutes next to Nate Thompson, rather than centering a line with Clifford and Lewis with at least some speed and play-driving ability.

It's not like we need MOAR GRITZ and FACEOFFZ vs. Detroit

Unfortunately Thompson seems to be instant best friends with everyone so I think he's here to stay forever.

I don't hate him as a person but I hate him being slower than Phaneuf but playing forward.

yeah if thompson had phaneuf's stick he'd at least be excuseable.. in current form he does nothing really

hey maybe he gets tonya harding'd and the kids get to play, you never know

He has been very poor defensively in his first two games. I've watched them. Needs to stop playing so risky in his own zone. Not all his fault that he is minus 4 already, but some of it is. He will be a very good PP QB when his time arrives. So will Clague.

He looked really solid during the preseason.

Clague, I haven't been impressed with at all. Hope you're right.

Can't trade any of them though, because they won cups 5 and 7 years ago. Once as a fan base we bragged about being one of the best, and one of the youngest teams in the NHL. Let's get on with the rebuild, please.

As Kempe/Amadio are showing greater proficiency as centers, I'm definitely on board with trading Carter.

My issue has always been "don't trade players just for value". As the 2nd line center gets adequately filled, Carter can either be moved to wing or traded.

Amen. I've long said a retool would be fine. Amadio and Kempe for example are looking like players. Can be like the Bruins and start to get younger without tearing it all apart.

Seems a bit early to be penciling in Amadio or Adrian "Can't win a faceoff against a teatherball pole" Kempe in as second line center. Amadio might get there eventually, Kempe I don't see being effective as anything other than a winger in the NHL. Would be happy to be proven wrong though.
