Love this. If Miller can take that C spot its a massive upgrade on Lindberg and alleviates a lot of the issues from losing Stepan
No doubt plus Buch gets more time in the wing . Win win

Yes that was...not great. I think the idea of "oh if he gets his game back that'll be OK" was far too optimistic.
Sather was definitely way too loyal to some guys
He also used to be good at plays with the puck along the boards in the defensive zone but that left him when his eye was hurt

I think almost everyone is rooting for him because he has been a good Ranger. Last season a lot of people said he would bounce back because he had a healthy offseason. I had my doubts then and I do now but this is one case I would really like to be wrong. In his prime he was a darn good player. 1st pairing borderline all star player at time. Its a shame how much of a toll the game can take on guys bodies.
When bereglazovs best comparable is current Marc Staal you can probably figure he's going to be on the outside looking in.
De Angelo is wearing 77 for the NYR. Spoke to Esposito about it. Traded for a beloved ranger. Flashy offensive righty dman with NHL games under his belt and a former first round pick. He's going to be on this team.
Holden is your 7th. He'll play for staal here and there and with AV as coach anytime DeAngelo makes a mistake Holden will come in for him.
Kampfer is the 8th and first call up.
Bereglazov prob will be back coasting for a top KHL team on easy street
Staal should absolutely be the 7th.
Unless they ever get around to that Holden for bozak deal which makes a lot of sense for everyone.

Gorton's a pretty affable guy
He looked a little nervous/caffeinated during the interview, but it seems to me in his interviews as GM he is very honest and up front about his plans, which is a nice change of pace.
I feel like Gorton always looks like this. Or at least...90% of the time.
Yeah, last year it was the same with Girardi, that he have to rest some blablabla. Yet he played injured.
Gorton's a pretty affable guy
For those who watched Staal's interview, man did that guy say everything wrong IMO.
I wanted to hear him say stuff like he was disappointed in his season and did a lot video tape review to identify what parts of his game changed and could change and got to work early and is coming to camp in the best shape of his career. "That's his opinion"??? AV literally controls your ice time. His opinion matters 1000% I hope "feeling healthy" is enough for Marc to play well. His overall demenor was very lackadaisical. He's got his contract guaranteed so he doesn't need to put in any effort. As other's pointed out, he just doesn't have the speed to keep up with today's NHL. I think it was in a Tuuka Rask piece on ESPN where he said that smaller goalie equipment and speed are the two biggest changes in the last 10 years. I really really hope I'm wrong because even if he is playing 7th D, I want him to be a decent 7D instead of an expensive paper weight riding pine.
Kreider, Zib,Zuc....Nash, Miller, Buch.... Vesey, Hayes, Grabner....x,DD,x.....Fast when healthy
So that's Puempel and likely Desjardin unless a kid makes it
Need another F still in my mind
