People need to remember the summer Kovács has had, let's not overreact to him being cut at camp.
This is a big season for him, he needs to show significant improvement, let's not judge him on training camp.
If the summer incident has anything to do with him being cut from camp, that's a big deal. He's missing prime development time playing with NHL players and receiving coaching from the top guys. Whether they're sheltering him or he's not focused or whatever, if that thing is in any way impacting his game that's problematic. It's also problematic if he has just looked bad.
Of course you can't write him off or anything based on this, but coming off last year this isn't exactly a promising development.
