If the summer incident has anything to do with him being cut from camp, that's a big deal. He's missing prime development time playing with NHL players and receiving coaching from the top guys. Whether they're sheltering him or he's not focused or whatever, if that thing is in any way impacting his game that's problematic. It's also problematic if he has just looked bad.

Of course you can't write him off or anything based on this, but coming off last year this isn't exactly a promising development.
 
What i'm saying is that he went through something traumatic, we don't know how well he dealt with it. Training could have suffered for example.

I'm just spitballing here, but truth is we don't know how it has affected him, so cut him some slack and evaluate after the season, or alteast after a few months.

Yeah considering how poorly his AHL season went, his troubles this summer, it's not surprising he's an early cut but if he can buckle down and get things on track in Hartford this year then hopefully he can get himself back in the mix

Social media is usually a "highlight reel" for people's lives, or often a fake veneer of what someone wants to present themselves as. I wouldn't take someone's social media posts looking normal as proof that they are or aren't still affected by something traumatic.

Also I think it's pretty harsh to say attributing some trouble with other aspects of life to a traumatic event is a crutch. People deal with harsh realities in unique ways.

To be clear I'm not saying that this is the reason for his poor performance, just saying it's not easy to tell how someone deals with something like that unless you really know them well.
 
The Rangers have cut five players from the training camp roster, leaving 49 players left in camp.

Robin Kovacs and Adam Chapie were assigned to Hartford. Brenden Kotyk was released from his NHL PTO and assigned to Hartford as well.
Tim Gettinger and Ty Ronning were assigned to their junior teams.

Instagram means absolutely nothing in terms of his current mental status... Could be a lot going on up there that is throwing his game off

In fairness, I think his play last year is far more concerning.

Even giving him the leeway as a result of the summer, and I feel for him, the reality is that this is still a career that is teetering on going off the rails.
 
Along with Bereglazov, Day and Crawley are still in the group. Anyone else (besides Chytil) with the group, but not on the ice in these first two games?

Want to see Day and Crawley against NHLers, even if it might not be too pretty.
 
Unfortunate, but this means another young center gets to come into a lineup earlier and that's always a plus in the preseason.
 
That would make sense if the other two dmen that haven't played werent the two youngest dmen in camp.

Basically bereglazov is only pro not to play yet that's healthy.

Or they're going to give him an extended look after making a decision on Gilmour or Pedrie tomorrow night

The way I see this, its the Rangers and Wolf Pack and PTOs Bobby Farnham and Andrew Desjardins.

or they had more than 12 dmen and couldn't play them all in the first 2 games so someone has to wait till the 3rd game lol

Right, but they also have to send guys down for Hartford's camp later this week, which may be why Pedrie and Gilmour are both getting looks tomorrow. The other possibility is that Beargloves just doesn't look good in camp. Guess we wait and see.
