Brown's probably not at 100% heel...

you dont cut a player like him if he's just rusty...he had a wrist injury, so he probably keeps him in shape in the gym, if he's rusty, you put him 13th foward and give him a week to regain form and put him in the line-up only when he's ready or if there is an injury...

so my guess, he's not 100% heeled...

we will have the answer soon I guess, if he play for windsor

Hasn't DeBrincat been complete garbage in every WJC event since last season? WJC last season, summer camp, this year's camp. Yeah he's ripping up the OHL but if you suck consistently at every one of these events then it's going to catch up to you.

He was so damn bad last year.

He was Team USA's Jake Virtanen. Constant penalties because he is so easy to bate.

Bob McKenzie noted that was a big knock on him at the draft was his temper.

USA Hockey shooting themselves in the foot again over politics. Wonderful.

Not really, Logan Brown played with the NTDP U-18 team last April in the World U-18's. And I don't think they are shooting themselves in the foot by letting Debrincat go, and apparently Brown isn't 100% based on what I've been reading. There is enough talent on this team to score and win.

He was also hurt last year but keep busting on a kid.

Had a shoulder injury 1.5 games in that saw him sent back to Erie and have a disappointing 2nd half as a result. The kid was hurt, played trough it, so they used him as a 13th forward. Not only was he hurt, he was an extra forward that could never get in a grove. Calling him garbage is ignorant to a 17/18 year old who had his first real tournament ruined by injury.

He's not a guy that can have any success without being with top scorers on a scoring line. He can't be a bottom six guy. Usa could have saw him as a 4th line guy in terms of talent but he doesn't fit that role so why put him through it like last year? You either let him play on the top 2 lines to get him going and for him to score or there is nothing he can do for you.

As for his struggles at NHL camp with Chicago: he is 18 and 5'7 165. And a rookie in his first camp. And he didn't have a terrible camp. Actually by most people's account it was a camp they expected from the undersized forward or was better than expected. Chicago was impressed enough they signed him to his entry level deal.

With the right players he succeeds. This might not be the type of event for him though. He is not going to make guys better around him. Not worse, but not noticeably better. He is a sniper. He needs guys to sorta enhance his game and style and play with speed. Hard to find in an event like this where it's new linemates that has the tourney run 3 weeks.

Even at 80%, I would still think Brown is better than some other players. Debrincat isn't a cut I disagree that much with. I would've had him on the team regardless, but I understand why he was cut.

I think Bracco is going to make people forget all about Debrincat. Brown is a tougher loss but there's not much you can do of it's health related

true...put Brown as 13th foward...over Patrick Harper...

maybe Brown's is clearly still injuried...tried...but not able...

we will see if he play in Windsor soon... at least that can motivate Brown

More upset about Brown than Debrincat. Was not all that impressed with Debrincat last year and losing him this year doesn't really make me think any less of this team. Brown would have been nice to have, but I'm sure everyone involved erred on the side of caution with his injury.

The one thing USA doesn't have this year is a clear superstar. I'm not sure anyone is going to play like Gaudreau, Eichel, or Matthews did. Hopefully someone breaks out (keller or white?).

JT Miller, Josh Gibson (MVP of the tourney) and Jacob Trouba were just as effective leaders, as Gaudreau, for the US in 2013. Nothing wrong with leadership by committee in a short tourney.

Gibson was insane in that tournament. I don't see any of the US goalies playing at that level.

The final forwards are so much different then I imagined to begin the season lol. Especially the bottom 6.

I dunno. Brown hadn't played in over a month. And he has to have an offensive role. If he is not ready , he's not ready. Too bad for him especially.

He's also stunk in Windsor this year. Playing first line minutes when healthy yet 5 points in 15 games while 5 on 5. That's pretty awful production. Don't think the guy is that offensively creative or gifted.
And again no chance to have been impressed with Debrincat last year- he was injuried folks. Went back to Erie injuried the rest of the year too.

USA Hockey shooting themselves in the foot again over politics. Wonderful.

Cutting Debrincat is anti-politics. Hockey politics would dictate the guy who made the team last year is automatic in his remaining eligible years. Instead, USA actually watched their players play together, decided he wasn't bringing enough to be worth keeping, and cut him.
Brown's cut makes sense with the injury stuff. Guy hasn't played a game in over a month. Even if he's actually 100% healthy, he's probably a bit rusty.

Jack Roslovic will likely be considered Team USA's best forward by the end of this tournament. He is putting up nearly a point-per-game in the AHL at age-19 (in what is essentially a 20+ league) and has looked fantastic this year.

19 points in 25 games is great, but isn't close to point per game.

Going to be hard for him to displace Colin White or Clayton Keller as the teams best player though. Especially White. Huge fan of him. I like Roslovic though.
