If a guy like Will Lockwood, who was really good at the U18s, continues to produce at Michigan, does he have a shot at latching on in a bottom six role?

One thing that might play in his favour is that he is a dynamic penalty killer on top of his offensive abilities.

With Keller's injury, here's where I'm at right now:

Bellows-White-Boeser
Greenway-Roslovic-Thompson
Yamamoto-Brown-Debrincat
Fischer-Kunin-Bracco
Laczynski

Lindgren-McAvoy
Jones-Krys
Fitzgerald-Martin
Fox

I think our D core is going to be pretty solid this year. Maybe not as strong as last year with Carlo, Werenski and co. But they will be a solid group I think.

I'm curious if Patrick Harper will get an invite to camp. I also wonder where Sean Day fits in. He has been much better with Windsor. Luke Martin also looking good. Still hoping for Cal Foote too. Lockwood and Frederic have been great but I'm just not sure they can overtake some guys that are a year older for that role.

You're referring to the kid from BU right? I like him too. Saw two streams of him with Avon Old Farms last year and was surprised to see him playing so well with BU already. That's a good name to bring up maybe as a wild card guy. Sean Day has been good in the OHL but that could be a trap of false security. I didn't get to see Team USA's games from the summer eval camp besides the last one against Canada which I attended in person. I thought the consensus on him was he's obviously good but is he WJC good?

I've been a fan of Lockwood since his group with Keller came in as the U17's two years ago. He really broke out in the U17 World Hockey Challenge that year. Their year might be next year. Could be hard to beat out some of the other forwards this time around. We'll see though.

Per Mark Edwards, USAH has invited Casey Mittelstadt to join Team USA for the World Junior A Challenge. That move pretty much signals that he's not in contention for the WJC team. That tournament runs from December 11th through the 17th, and the WJC Pre-Tournament Camp starts December 15th. Very similar situation to Kyle Connor two years ago.

What does Bracco need to do to make this team?

2nd in OHL points race currently.

Ive got Bracco on the team currently. But I dont like my lineup. To me, the problem is that we've got a number of wings who are pretty clearly "offense first" forwards: Bracco, Thompson, DeBrincat, Greenway...and we may not have room fo all of them in a top 9. At this point, I'm thinking Greenway and Debrincat are almost certainly on the team, so....

Any chance Foley makes it?

14 points in 12 games for Providence, can play a physical checking role as well.

I think Foley has a chance for sure. Was good in the games this summer and has really worked hard at his game. He has a scoring touch as well so he could be an asset.

Does Fitzgerald have a good shot at cracking the lineup?

He's tied for scoring with teammate Colin White...and he's a defenceman.
