Tade's list looks correct for now. Morrissey is a good add. He was a very good WJC defender and was good for Winnipeg this year. He could use the experience. I was hoping to see him.
Morrissey better then Hamhus?
???
Maybe things work different in the US, but in Canada high school graduations are always June/July.
WHC is in May
Taking a look at the calendar of his daughter's school, graduation is on June 2nd but there's other things going on through the month of May he might want to be around for. IIRC she's on the track team and there are several meets, school exams, AP exams, awards days, etc. so I can imagine that he'd want to be around for it, especially given that this is his oldest daughter.

Benn and Seguin about IIHF Worlds
Seguin - On if he would consider playing in the World Championship
"I think I'll have a talk with Jim before I take off here. We'll talk about that and in the end, I'm going to do what's best for myself and my body, what's going to make me the best for next year. I'll have that talk."
Benn
On if he'll consider the World Championships at all
""We'll talk about it and I've been thinking about it a little bit. I'll have to once again do what's right for myself. Probably talk to Jim a little bit and we'll make a decision."

"Yeah, when I hurt my Achilles, they told me it would take about a year to be fully fixed. Still waiting for it to be fully fixed I guess. Last summer, I didn't get a chance or the opportunity to do any running, do any agility. I just was able to ride the bike, so this offseason I'm looking forward to doing that a bit more, getting that next step of speed."
Drouin and Point not invited.
Point is a guy that they can probably wait to invite, but I would invite Drouin now. He is very good.
Demers is fine, but I don't love the invitation. He is the kind of guy I would probably replace with a Europe based defenceman, o another younger defenceman, depending on what else Canada gets. I'm quite optimistic for at least Ellis after the first round.
This thing mean - no Daughty and no Muzzin![]()
I know nothing about Demers, literally nothing, but pretty happy with Matheson. They can probably hold off on D men now and try to get some big fishes, because so far the additions have been really solid. Honestly even if we don't get much more talent, our D is much better than last year already.
Goaltending will be the real question mark again. Talbot was excellent last year in the last couple games.
Edit: Jack said getting Ellis would be good, I would LOVE to get Subban, who always volunteers if he's healthy.
Not as confident as you on Subban, think he bypasses this thing most years now, just a hunch.
