cant get over the fact they had lovullo sitting there and opted to keep Farrell over him
I get lovullo not wanting to take his friends job but at some point you have to do what's best for the organization if you're the sox. If we are being honest with each other Farrell is fired if he didn't unfortunately get cancer.
I'm sick of Farrell's bullpen management and I'm sick of his dumb ideas. Inject some life into the team, they are playing uninspired ball like they are in the doldrums of July and its only mid may
Carson smith and David price need to come back soon.
why did they trade Shaw when we knew Panda was terrible? he's almost leading AL in RBI's
He will inevitably fade and be a bench player once again.
Today would have been the perfect day to fire Farrell. Not sure how much longer they can wait.

What will that really do though? It won't fix the bullpen. It won't fix the starting rotation. It won't make guys who aren't hitting suddenly hit. It won't make Panda a useful 3rd base option. It won't fix this poorly constructed roster.
“Good, good man. Even better coach,†Babcock said. “Someone out there is happy today. I mean, you ain’t getting better."

And keep in mind I say that as a person who wants JF fired.
For the sake of argument, I guess you can say this. Is the team playing poorly under JF because they dislike him that much? I mean you can certainly make the argument, but if that were truly the case, wouldn't they have been bad last year too though?
Panda is already there, Shaw seems to be on the upswing
Attendance numbers are all about tickets sold, not how many people actually show up.
There was definitely a "win one last one for Papi" thing going on last year that helped carry them through the regular season until they ran out of gas/ran into a hot team in the playoffs. It seems they need some additional motivation this year and Farrell really isn't the guy to help provide that IMO.
Everybody always points that out when you talk about firing a manager or coach, but ultimately its about putting the players on notice. Managers and coaches get fired, more than any other reason, to put the players on notice and get them to turn themselves around.
This Red Sox team is playing uninspired, mistake-riddled baseball. But it's a good enough team to win games even with a couple starters banged up. With Sale and Porcello alone they have a decent rotation, and EdRod is a solid 3 this season. What they need is to play with more desperation and more attention to detail. I think a manager shakeup is aimed to get you that.
That's not the case anywhere else I've ever attended a game. The announced attendance are actual butts in the seat. Not tickets sold.
http://www.latimes.com/la-sp-attendance-082305-story.htmlNational League teams announced an actual turnstile count through 1992, MLB spokesman Rich Levin said. But the National League and American League have since consolidated business operations, and Major League Baseball defines attendance as "tickets sold," not "tickets used."
It really depends on if you think they're underachieving, or are what we've seen. Personally, I don't think this team is very good. I think they're what we see. A few decent pieces, but a lot of holes. Holes in the starting pitching. Holes in the bullpen. Holes in the infield. Holes in the outfield. Holes in the batting order. They're a sum of all their parts and that sum isn't very good.

Buster Olney and Keith Law discuss whether the sample size is big enough to believe in the results of the Astros, Cubs, Cardinals, Twins, and others so far this season.
