From Rosen about the Buffalo job and re: Futa:

"Don’t pay much attention to the Mike Futa Buffalo rumblings as they relate to Lombardi; even though there could theoretically be interest on the Sabres end (there was before Murray was hired), Futa was just promoted by Los Angeles, and all indications I have are that there’s excitement and energy at the top of the front office as he works alongside Robitaille and Blake."

Darn, baseless speculation shot down.

It wouldn't surprise me if Buffalo wanted to interview Lombardi, and I don't see why the Kings would stand in his way.

Not sure if any of you guys follow YouTube vloggers but Sean Avery was in Casey Neistat's video; kinda caught me off guard. He looked like he was in good shape too lol.

More stocking of the prospect pool

Elite prospects desribes Fantenberg as a solid two defender with offensive skills. But could improve upon his speed.

TSN was showing Lombardi as being the replacement for Buffalo. Makes the most sense.

Too bad we couldn't get a free pick out of it :(

(I'm still in the minority of hoping one day coaches could also be traded along with players)

Well the old car's wheels were the best items on the entire damn vehicle! John Stevens is a very large part why the Kings have had a top defensive unit in the NHL as long as he's been here. We don't even know what his philosophy will be as a HC.

He's paid his dues, let's give the guy a chance.

Agree on all counts.

Let's do this John!

The Kings’ talks with John Stevens about their vacant head coaching job are continuing in a “positive manner” and a resolution is expected soon, according to a source who is familiar with the process but isn’t authorized to speak publicly.

Stevens was the associate coach under Darryl Sutter, who was fired after the Kings missed the playoffs for the second time in three seasons.

Fantenberg stats & bio:

Had a look at some highlights which obviously don't tell the whole story but the guy looks pretty decent. Atleast it's another option on the backend to look at for next year.

Go take another dip into the KHL pool and bring back Voynov. :naughty:

Relieved of his duties. Still legally under contract for one more year which is why permission is needed. Does imply that he is still being paid by the kings.

Oh well, I assume the Kings would let Lombardi interview with Buffalo or anyone else if he so chooses. Although I suspect with everything he has been through the last three years that Dean may take a year off and re-charge the batteries.

Buffalo job isn't even that appealing. He can hold out for much better options. Montreal immediately comes to mind.

Buffalo has an elite young #1 center much like Dean had here with Kopitar, I think that is pretty appealing.

I don't know if Montreal would would be ideal for Dean, the guy aged about 25 years in his decade in LA in one of the least pressure jobs in the NHL.

If he went to Montreal...
