While Dean did some questionable deals the one thing he did do is not hand out a bunch of NMC's

Chicago has to move a back up goalie because Crawford has an NMC, and most likely will only be willing to move to teams who are at or near the cap.

Hawks managed to kick their bad contracts down the road for ahwile, but the chickens are coming home to roost for them too.

Sutter is a tough coach to play for. That's why he's so good in small, concentrated doses. He knows how to psychologically motivate players.

Remember that story about the 2014 WCF? Hawks were ahead going into the second period of game one. Sutter came back into the locker room literally mumbling to himself about "oh well Toews really is just the best player in the league."

He wasn't even saying it to anyone in particular. But he made sure Doughty and the other top guys heard him. That was all that needed saying. Kings went back out and won the game.

That kind of coaching is brilliant, but you can only "work" (to use a wrestling term) your players so long before they catch on and start to resent you.

Chicago with 8 NMC's, makes giving a list to Vegas so easy. Ducks have Vermette with a NMC, some of the other players with NMC's are amazing. Ryan Clowe? Chris Neil?

my bet is le brun, custance, mayor and bernstein are starting a pod/blog set up.

It'll be something like this. Don't fall for Hoven's act. If he had any significant news. He'd do what he does when he actually has it, and report on it right away, or say
nothing until he can break the news. When he does this kind of stuff. It's usually pertains to some new feature coming to his website.

That's what I was about to say. Doubt it's TEAM news. Think it's coverage news on their behalf.

Smart, but these are exactly the things he does that annoy me.

Soo soooo sooo cryptic

I'm all but certain that him and Berstein and maybe a few others are doing another round table discussion. I don't know if anybody remembers this, but I actually really enjoyed these. The guys that made these videos were hinting at a possible return this week.

Unless it's Kings roster/personnel related, I don't give a **** about self aggragandizing promotions. Let your work speak for itself.

I love these stories about Sutter.

A family friend has a cottage in Kenora, Ontario and Richards is practically his neighbour. He shared this one from the 2014 playoffs. I think it was before the 2nd OT in game 5 vs the Rangers. Sutter walks in the room silently, squats down (picture a baseball catcher) and looks around the room at everyone. He makes that chewing sound as he's about to say something, stops for another 30 seconds, the finally says "Go win this hockey game" and gets up and walks out.

Yup, then I go back to unfollowing him.

Jake Muzzin for Jonathan Drouin.

Kopitar gets his winger and the Lightning get their top 4 defenseman. Yzerman is already very familiar with Muzzin.

Vermette's NMC expires right before the expansion draft though. It was only a 1 year NMC.
