I wonder how many foreign boards John Zeiler has annhiliated in his career as a crash test dummy
Thanks for this. First real post for offering a reason why. Good info.
Notice how you're standing on an island by yourself thinking bringing a guy in for a PTO is a problem? That should tell you something.

With our cap space I would hope they take a chance on Vanek. He has nEver scored less than 40 points his entire career. He is a net front monster and would only help us. Sign him to a 2 year contract if his demands are not crazy
It's funny. So many people say give the kids a chance. Why aren't the kids on the team? What good is it wasting so much time in the AHL? Then there's the sign the more proven old guy to a deal idea.
They're pretty full with the NHL and AHL rosters. Not sure how many more guys they're adding.
Blake has no clue what he's doing. This team could use a power forward like Matt Zultek on Kopitar's left wing.
Let the kids take up roster spots from the 4th line plugs like Clifford , Nolan , Andreof so we can roll 4 fast skilled hungry lines
After today's re-signings, I think we have a rough idea of what the 23-man roster may look like on opening night (barring any trades).
Cammalleri-Kopitar-Brown
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli
Gaborik-Kempe-Lewis
Clifford-Shore-Nolan
Forbort-Doughty
Muzzin-LaDue
Martinez-Folin
Quick-Kuemper
Scratches: Andreoff, Dowd, Gravel
That 23-man lineup leaves the team with a little over $5M in cap space, plenty of space to make another significant addition via trade. Don't know if that'll come before the start of the season or during the season, but for once the Kings have some cap flexibility.
And that is why not spending money recklessly on July 1 has its benefits. I expect Doughty to get locked up to a long-term contract next summer.

I think Mersch had his shot, but I think he's just too slow. I could see him or Auger maybe beating AA if they think AA is redundant, but Auger is as slow if not slower than Mersch.Gotta disagree here about Kempe.
Kings have 3 players they have spent a lot of time on that need to clear waivers...Mersch, Auger, and MacDermid.
Kempe, Brodzinski, and Gravel do not have to clear.
Also, Gaborik is injured.
I foresee...
Cammy-Kopitar-Brown
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli
Mersch-Shore-Lewis
Clifford-Dowd-Nolan
Scratches are Andreoff and Auger. I think Kings will see what hey have at the NHL level in Mersch and Auger before losing them. I think Cammy gives Brodzinski another year in the AHL.
Oii, I have a sick feeling Doughtys contract is gonna be really pricey.
Unless necessary, teams don't want to not have those one way contracts in the NHL. Until traded, and since they're so useless and overpaid who knows what team would take them, Clifford, Nolan, and Andreoff probably aren't going anywhere.
Gaborik got married yesterday/today hopefully now he will either start playing or risk getting moved and be in a ****ed up position
If anything, now's the time to waive him. He doesnt show up to Ontario, terminate his contract and him and his wife can go live in Europe and he can still make millions in the KHL.
Why not just throw him off a crane?
Kings did the smart move with Andreoff and signed him to a two year. They did the same thing with Schultz a few years back. If they send him thru waivers teams might hesitate to pick up a player on a two year deal.
The Mayor seems to think Andreoff ends up in the AHL and Auger and Mersch stick. I tend to agree. I like Andreoff but those other two have upside.
