I stand corrected. Looks better than "Pride=Passion=Power".

I think you can add Calgary and Nashville to the list of teams that will finish above the Kings.

There's a good chance they finish above us, but I don't think they're good enough to say "for sure" they will.

Nashville finished 8th last year. Calgary finished 7th and had the worst goal differential of any team in the West that made the playoffs. They're a fairly mediocre team.

1. EDM
2. ANA
3. CGY

4. LA
5. SJ
6. ARZ
7. VAN
8. LV

1. DAL
2. STL
3. NSH
4. WIN
5. CHI

6. MIN
7. COL

book it.

They just need to go out and acquire another modern day version of a 27-year old Ziggy Palffy, just as they did in '99.

Too bad nobody like him is available, unless you consider Matt Duchene to be at that level (which he is not). Plus I don't know if the Kings have what it takes to land a Duchene, unless Joe Sakic is a horrible GM and can be taken advantage of just as he was when he dealt O'Reilly to Buffalo.

Gives a new definition to the word. He's clueless and dug himself in a deep hole and has lost the respect of his brothers in arms around the NHL. He has been offered everything he asked for and more for Duchene (and most likely Barrie and landy) and has done nothing. The Isles deal was Hamonic and a first as 'part of the package'. And the Canes had at least 2 offers , one in March , that included Fault, which they upped later in the year. And if you know that team, they have the deepest young d studs in the NHL. The farm is loaded as well as on the team. Yet Sakic remains a Sphinx.

And where exactly are the owners? how can you not care so much that the team you own is in the toilet. I like Duchene and admired how well he weathered the storm most of the year, every town he hit wit ha mic in is face asking about being traded. He was a a good soldier but that's gone now. I don't blame him for being angry. Landy and Duchene are good players, good teammates, and were two of a handful of players on that team that tried last year. And that storm Sakic created did affect that room and the team went into a spiral. No leadership in the front office and no stability, no map, no plan. This year will be even worse. I looked on Salary Cap and they have only 3 D signed. Three? You need or should have at least 7. Three??? And Barrie's job isn't even safe.

I don't understand what he thinks he doing. Or how he doesn't see how much face he's lost around the league.

Dunno about Minny, I think the Kings can jump them. It will be close.

Still not sold on Calgary. Mike Smith isn't the same goalie he was in 2012 and as far as I'm concerned not much better than Elliott. ANH and EDM are the only two teams I see above us, everything else is wide open between SJ, the Kings, and Calgary.

Lots of Mike Smith talk which I get but that defense core is really strong and that is going to help him.

I actually think Smith will do well and the Flames will finish no worse than 3rd in the Pacific.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Calgary regresses again, I do expect Nashville to be better than LA though.

Not sure about Calgary. Getting Hamonic is pretty big. They have a very solid top 5 d.
On forward I think Bennett will be better than last year and I think Jankowski will finally make the team and will surprise/impress a fair number of people.

I could see Alberta finishing with top two spots in the Pacific. Followed by the three California clubs. I think Anaheim is a regression candidate.

Clifford and Nolan will glare at Tkachuk, really send the message that hey, we don't like what you're doing and we might do something about it.

Apparently we view Clifford differently. after his 4th concussion, doesn't look like he'll be doing anything intimidating.

Would you guys trade for E. Kane? If so, then who or what would you trade for him?

Thanks!!!

I would, my price would be Martinez or Muzzin & Gaborik. This looked better pre-expansion draft though when LA had McNabb in the fold and no Cammy.

The Flames did get better and I have them and the Ducks 2/3 behind the Oilers. And SPencer Foo is a pretty nice add to that top 9. And in the Pacific, I think you'll need 3rd to get into the playoffs. The Central has 7 teams fighting for 4 spots and I think 5 will come out of the Central , with one of the Jets or Blues fighting for that 5th spot. And Mason is good enough to improve the Jets.

I think the Kings did make 'that call' over the winter. But from what I've read recently, the new coach is inclined to keep him, and he did have a good year last
years.
Of course, the right offer is made, most players would be available

What would/could Blake trade at this point? Buffalo now has 2 dmen at $5m+, and another 2 dmen at $4m. Plus whatever Beaulieu will get. Nobody wants him to trade young guys or picks for a possible rental either.

The Sabres have been adding this summer, Kane led them in goals last year, finished in the top 35 in total goals league wide, and in the top 15 in ES goals. That ship has probably sailed by now, if it was ever a possibility to begin with.

Didn't notice if that has already been reported, but according to Igor Larionov, Kings have signed Andrei Loktionov on a try-out deal.
