Själin was paired with Westerlund all spring in the U18 national team and carried Westerlund badly defensively, he's really good.

I just want players that can the way the game is played right now. Sounds like this kid is smart and effective with the puck, and can skate.

If you had done a slight bit of research, you'd know that after the top 6, pretty much the next 10-15 could have been selected in any order.

But keep talking if it makes you feel better.

Did anyone tell Gorton that before he traded his #1 center for the #7 pick?

Let's not forget who started the childish personal attacks here. I am frustrated at what this franchise has done with the rare top 10 picks they have. You are making excuses.

How? look at our entire system.. its so Lefty heavy on D

We have DeAngelo, potentially Smith, prospects Paliotta, Graves, Bereglazov, Pionk and Zborovskiy who can all play on the right side (regardless of their handedness). Sean Day has also played his off side and then there's whatever free agents we sign or players we acquire in the next few years.

You take BPA, not based off of perceived need now. A kid that's 17 and fills a need now may not fill a need in five years when he's ready to play.

Those are facts

Don't cry foul because you didn't bother to do the research. You do know that the Rangers tried (and failed) to trade into the top 3 right? They knew what was up.

Keep talking though.

playing your off side in the minors, juniors, or abroad is completely different than playing it in the NHL.

I just think when it comes to picking this late in a draft if your going to take a chance take it on something we dont have any depth on

I'm liking this Lakatos pick!

My targets for next pick; Chekovich (HOW IS HE STILL HERE?), Minulin, Ã…hman, Thilander, Khodorenko.

I do understand your concern but you should understand nothing we say or do matters. All we can do is wait and see. You might be surprised. I remember Ranger fans online going nuts about us passing so many big name guys over the years that often turned out to be busts.
