Why burn a year of his ELC on a lost cause? Same goes for Chytil. Just let them play the year in the AHL and let the contract slide.
Leaving Chytil aside for a moment since there were / are different factors, what would be good reasons for the front office to bring Lias to Hartford at this time if not at some point to give him a shot to be with the Rangers this season?

Because the AHL is a better league than the SEL? To have him in the organization? To have him in NA? To have him playing with players in the organization? So the entire organization can keep better tabs on him?

Of course but these would be the reasons before the start of the season, not in the middle of it

They also might not fully like how Frolunda was deploying him and they want him to get time in specific situations he wasn't seeing over there.

Or the injury to his shoulder caused them to be more cautious and want to make sure he isn't playing without their medical staff giving full clearance.

Or they didnt think he was ready for the AHL based on the preseason but based on his recent play think he is now.

He was getting second line minutes and PP1 usage with Frolunda. IDK if he'll get more in Hartford. I suppose beginning the acclimation to North America is good, though.

How did he look shooting the puck, handling the puck and overall compete level.

Game one, but it would be nice to know if he was more involved as the game went on. The assist on the GW is nice secondary or not.

Overall impression on game 1?

AHL aint a better league than SHL a different league but not better. LA should be fine in AHL when he get the new system and faster pace because of lesser ice to play on.
