Could see it. They're guaranteed to have a QB on the board at #4. No guarantee that Saquon is there.
I think they will trade up with the Giants. We get picks back and draft Nelson. It's a stupid move imo, we need a new QB for the future and I bet that one of this class will be a really good one.

He played last year as an ILB, as an OLB he was great for the Rams, he can also rush the passer pretty well. Web need LB for our new defensive scheme, without putting the pads on he is already the best LB for the Giants in the last decade.

But he still can’t tackle. Lol. He’s fast and schemes well, but he tackles like a HS player.

Why would we draft Nelson? Norwell is going to be a Giant, apparently. It sounds like a done deal.

That is true, but at OLB tackling will not be a major problem, specially with our front four. Maybe this is the year that e finally can cover a TE, I can't endure another season watching Jason "sand feet" Witten killing us.

I read some analysts saying that he is the better overall player this draft, better than Zack Martin. Even with Norwell our line will suck if we dont get more 2 good players.
LT - Norwell - Jones - RG - RT, we basically have one player in our roster capable of being a NFL OL, need more than that To have a chance to be decent next year.

But it didn't suck last year. It was league average.

Yup. There are four QBs who are widely believed to be 1st round picks: Darnold, Rosen, Allen, and Mayfield (maybe Jackson). If you think even two of those four are basically tied for best of the bunch, or even a close 1-2, you'd be crazy not to consider it, especially since Chubb appears to be the clear #2 OA in terms of raw talent, and edge rusher is perhaps the 2nd/3rd most important position behind QB (and perhaps LT) in the modern game.

From everything I read, Barkley is a consensus generational player. You can't pass that up if you have needs everywhere, as my poor Brownies do.

I don't buy PFF numbers.

It's not just PFF. It's also Football Outsiders. It's also me and a number of other folks that see that league-wide, offensive line play is garbage compared to a decade ago. Compared to the rest of the league, the Giants have an average offensive line. My personal viewing completely meshed with both PFF and FO as well as most of those I know who have watched a ton of games.

Browns best play is to get Saquan at 1 and take the leftover QB, if they like him, at 4. You're getting a choice of potentially Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, or Darnold that way.

Why would they want to do that, though? Cousins isn't signing there. Are they really going to take a sub-par FA QB and risk that yet again?
The last 3 QBs the Browns drafted in the 1st round are Johnny Manziel Brandon Weeden and Brady Quinn. Whatever you think of Cousins he's better than those guys.

Yeah, but they drafted those guys because they were picking leftovers later in the first round of the respective drafts. Not at the top 5 (where they took other guys). There's a massive difference between any of those clowns and the top QBs in this draft.

What did you mean by Cousins? I said he's not signing in Cleveland. No way he does. He's a pretty average QB and would be a huge upgrade for them, but I can't imagine he'd ever sign in Cleveland when the Jets, Broncos, and Vikings are all options.

Please. Go all the way back to '99. Every QB the new incarnation of the franchise has drafted has busted. And most recently, it's because they keep playing stupid games in the 1st round, trading back, passing on guys because of perceived flaws – and then the one time the owner got involved and overruled his FO... it was to select an absolute headcase that no one else wanted in the latter half of the 1st.

No more ignoring the best guy early. No more trading up into the last third of the 1st to get a "faller". They need to use a top 5 pick on the best QB available. If the also want to sign McCarron as a FA while Kizer and the new kid learn, by all means. But they cannot screw this up and fail to come away with one of the top two QBs in this class.

My point was more about how bad the Browns are at drafting. Here are the QBs selected in the top 5 the last 5 years. Goff and Wentz are off to good starts. Luck was good until the injuries. Bortles Winston and Mariota haven't lived up to their draft status yet. Hard to say what could have been for RG3. QBs can be such a crap shoot even at the top of the draft.

2016

1. Jared Goff
2. Carson Wentz

2015
1. Jameis Winston
2. Marcus Mariota

2014
3. Blake Bortles

2012
1. Andrew Luck
2. RG3

Browns have the cap space and need a QB. I can see him going to the vikes or broncos over the Browns but why would he choose the Jets over the Browns?

They all "have the cap space and need a QB". Why wouldn't someone choose a NY team over the Browns? He'd make more money with the endorsements.

Yeah, doing otherwise would be typical Browns.

You don't need to be on a NY team to get endorsements. The Browns, who already have a decent defense, are immediately better than the Jets by adding Cousins and Saquon Barkley and another impact player from the draft. They gave away so many games last season and should have beaten the Jets. The Jets are such a train wreck at this point that they don't have players good enough to enable them to cut Robbie Anderson and Wrong Way Donahue.

What in the world does Cleveland offer a QB that any of the listed teams does not when the money is the same?

One, you'd have to live in Cleveland. Two, the endorsements are definitely less (saying otherwise is silly, as its an indisputable fact). Three, you're not in Cleveland. And four, you're not in Cleveland.

If the money is equal, Cleveland is low on the list.

I'm as big an Eli Manning fan as you'll find, but the guy is 37 and clearly at the end of his career.

If the Giants think that Rosen and/or Darnold will be Franchise QB's, and one of them is there to be taken at 2, then that should be their pick. I'm a Cal fan, and got to watch Webb, and although he has a good arm and size, I'm not sure he has everything else needed to be a successful NFL QB.

Doesn't it seem a little strange that with at least 4 or 5 decent to good defensive linemen and one promising oft-injured linebacker and the new guy who supposedly can't tackle very well and not much else that the Giants will be going to a 3/4 just because the new defensive organizer likes the 3/4?
