rask has more talent in his little finger.

bishop can definitely have long stretches of games where hes a serviceable middle of the pack goalie... on a good team he might even put up some numbers that rank him in the top half of goalies

but if we are fans who are frustrated with rask putting up the best numbers of any goalie in the nhl the past decade.... then we would be absolutely rioting with the mediocre inconsistent goaltending from a guy like bishop

if we do decide to move rask...I think we should try to convince a team like jersey to give up Schneider... or we should go with a kid that the fans might be paitent with. theres a couple other possible goalies out there we could gamble on but not a guy like bishop or brian Elliot or anyone of that ilk

Go look at Bishops playoff numbers the last two seasons and come back and tell me he's mediocre.

Those last 4 games are scary as F

Some shreds of optimism:

1) Tonight, the Panthers scored a touchdown with an extra point and shut out Chicago. They're not invincible. Hell, if Chicago's smart, they'll throw us a bone and start resting star players. They're a virtual lock on the conference, and the Presidents Trophy, while attainable, is a mere bauble. Granted, our game will be their home closer, so it'd be slightly obnoxious to fans to sit Toews, but it's only their regular season home closer, and definitely not their last game this season in Chicago.

2) Tampa Bay plays the Bruins in the middle of a 5-in-7. Not a B2B, but about as bad as you can get schedule-wise without being B2B. They could, by some twist of fate, plummet to irrelevancy in the next week. Plus, the Bruins will have a HUGE chip on their shoulder after the boo-birds came out Thursday.

3) Ottawa would probably not want to work too hard to pass Montreal to "win" the Atlantic and play the Rangers. If they're locked into A2 instead of A3, they won't have much to play for. We also play Ottawa as the middle man in a 5-in-7.

4) Please, Jeebus, let the Caps rest Ovi. Caps could have the division AND the Presidents Trophy locked up before game. You just have to hope they're not fighting to avoid a M3 seed.

Crazy how much this jumped last night. Literally everything the Bruins needed to happen last night did.

After 10 games out of 11 not going Bruins way since Monday, Bruins finally had a good night with a win and Toronto losing to Buffalo.

1pt back 3rd place in division. There is still hope.

Go Bruins!

Is the Anderson injury serious?

not sure anyone knows yet, serious enough to leave the game last night though. If I were a guessing man, my money is when Kane fell on his shoulder while he was flat on his chest that`s when the injury really occurred but who knows how serious it is.

I like Rask but I would take Bishop any day over him, that guy is solid in net, and is probably the best puck handling goalie in the NHL and that was part of how he had such a big impact in Tampa. Rask may be more talented but I would rather have Bishop in net.

I`ve watched Bishop cr** the bed just as often as Tuukka and I don`t like the fact that Bishop also seems to have some issues staying healthy

While I have my question marks with Tuukka, I don`t replace him with Bishop, now, if you said Carey Price:naughty:

I think, if the last game is about us making the playoffs as the 2nd WC team and the Caps have clinched their division by then, it would be in their interest to let us win and thus choose us as the first round opponent. They seem to match up very well against us.

That's my take too - he had a shoulder injury just before the season began I believe.

Doesn't seem right, does it?

I'm still feeling a little below 50%.

The big takeaway is that the Bruins still control their own destiny. If they play well, they make it. If they don't, they only have themselves to blame. I'll take that after the last four games where nothing seemed to go right for them.

Though it odd that the Sabres doctor checked him out and advised him to shut it down. :sarcasm:
Apparently team doctors don't always travel with teams so they rely on the home teams doctor. Moght want to send the Sabres Doc a little something as a thank you. :naughty:

Some cause for concern with the B's and buds with their starting keepers. That must make the Isles and Bolts think that may help their cause.

By far the biggest concern with Bishop is his health, in particular his lower-body.

Bingo. Having the tie breaker on every team is a big one too. Like I said in one of the threads yesterday, the Isle beating Pitt sucked, but it was in the shootout at least, so they caught a break there.

Bruins 4 ROW up on NYI and 5 ROW up on TB. 3 up on Toronto as well.

Like you said, they control their own destiny. Win and they make it. Lose and they can only blame themselves.

it fluctuates too much (off real math ,I totally get that) to be taken seriously. It's one thing to come up with an equation that is based on all the factors you can write down on paper but reality ends up turning it so much different

I think their odds have pretty much been the same the entire season, somewhere in the mid range

Toronto has 5 games in 7 nights to end the season, that has to cost them down the road doesn't it?

It's tough, especially if Andersen is forced to miss time. Their schedule is pretty tough as well.

8 games remaining (5H/3A):
FLA
@NSH
@DET
@BUF
WSH
TB
PIT
CLB

That final stretch at home is brutal, and it's a 4 games in 5 nights stretch as well. If Toronto gets out of that still in playoff position, they've more than earned the right to be there.
