Toronto beating Detroit 4-0.

The Leafs are not going to blow the games in hand that they have over the Bruins.

I am less optimistic than I was. For this year, size on the third line if possible to upgrade, one top 6 rw, tight defensive play (don't trust our d core transition game) and I still think they can go in - forget the uptempo game - .They will have to win The best of teams battling in their match up. We will be in.

You have to be by far and away the worst or 2nd worst team to get a guaranteed pick, the Bruins are not and have a solid prospect base going forward.

Just keep winning but play youth instead of irrelevant old guys and or fringe NHLers going forward.

Just win dammit.

Also stop trading away NHL talent and not replacing it with equal or a better player.

Easy math boys, easy math.

Adding in tonight's Flyers win over the Rangers, the playoff probability is now 25.1%.

By the end of the Thursday night games, the Bruins chances will be anywhere from 15.5% --> 34.8%.

What a difference a year makes for Canadian TV.

Last season NO Canadian teams made the playoffs and now it appears no worse than 4 teams will. It appears we are looking at another 'Battle of Ontario' in Round 1.

Warned people at the start of the year, Toronto is set to be a real problem for a decade. Combined with the fact that Tampa won't be this bad consistently, Ottawa is really turning things around, Montreal is obviously strong....

We're quite lucky that Buffalo hasn't put it all together yet. Detroit and Boston in my opinion have the weakest cores of the bunch. I'd take the young Florida core over ours.

As far as the draft goes, it's weak in the sense of not having true game changes at the top. There's no McDavid or Matthews but there's also not a huge drop in talent ashow you move down the board. Deep draft in the sense of having a lot of guys who are around the same kind of skill level.

Last year , after the 70 game mark ,what were the odds that the Bruins were going to make the playoffs? I don't think those percentages mean much if the team is going to completely fall apart like they did last year or on the flip side if they can surge the rest of the way ,even though they haven't shown any signs of doing so thus far .

Islanders with a big win against Montreal tonight - they have 5 games in hand :help:

http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern.html

Are the Bruins 5 points ahead of them ? So they HAVE to win 3 just to move ahead by 1 point ? Not that big of a deal in my opinion. Head to head matchups with the other teams in the East will obviously be very important. Bruins play the Sens 3 times late in the year .
