Sweet, even more sports betting will be shoved down our throats!
FanDuel is a sportsbook. Bally is a sportsbook (among other things).

It's a new title sponsor, but Bally and Diamond weren't able to get nearly as many integrations as they had envisioned. I don't see that changing. FanDuel probably isn't even paying as much as Bally.

Well my firestick automatically updated to the fanduel app and I didn't have to verify to sign in like I did with Bally's... every friggin time. Maybe it sucks less.

Old man here lol(nearly 50) in need of help. Been reading through the replies, but can someone just tell me the easiest way to watch games. I have Xfinity but they make you upgrade your package to get FanDuel and I don’t wanna do that, I’m already paying 200.00. Anyway any help would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately I can’t download apps to my t.v., even though I have Prime Hulu Disney Netflix……..so that part kind of confuses me.

In-market, the options are either pay the cable company, or use the app.

A Roku or Amazon Fire TV stick would allow you to download apps for your TV.

Alternatively, you could watch FanDuel+ on your PC, or another device, if that's of any interest.

The Lightning's season is depressingly on FanDuel Sun, ABC, TNT, ESPN, and ESPN+ exclusive.

Stammer's return was an ESPN+ exclusive, however, Lightning games are normally blacked out in-market. They do become available at some point after the game is played, but that would be the vast majority of the season.

ESPN wants us to buy ESPN+, but not for watching the Lightning. There is a workaround (a VPN), but that's adding complexity.

Some games are also on NHL Network, so if you have FanDuel Sun, then you can ignore that, but if you are out-of-market, it's not on ESPN+.

The NHLN games probably cause the most frustration because it's the NHL doing it to themselves.

I tooled around with suppose.tv, and the best deal for everything (other than ESPN+ exclusives) is DirectTV Stream Ultimate.

The ABC games are also on ESPN+, with no blackouts, so that can be toggled, but the cheapest way to watch linear networks is with an antenna. There's a fee on your cable bill for networks, and it's got to be something like $20/month now. You can buy an antenna for maybe $30 and never pay again.

I just use ESPN+ for hockey, and when I need the local news, they have it free either on their website, YouTube, or on a free ad-supported app like Tubi.

Did not see any pricing info in the article, going to look into this tonight.
It seems like standard FanDuel pricing.

The $80 Pro tier of Fubo has FanDuel Sun, and everything else it offers for that price.

A huge chunk of the no name channels on Fubo are free on most decent FAST websites (like Tubi or Pluto). The only things missing from the $80 tier are TNT (which you can cover through HBO Max), NHL Network, and the ESPN+ exclusive games.

The $100 tier adds in NHL Network.

I'd still suggest trying suppose.tv to figure out some possibilities.

I'm not too sure who the target market is. I'd think season ticket holders, but it's overpriced for that. They might as well go for the $107 season package, or pay $20 monthly.

It's good that they offer something like this, but I haven't really seen the appeal on other sites that have done it.

The best combo I can find for smart TVs would be:

Sling TV Orange & ESPN+ for $52/month
FanDuel Sun for $20/month

Total $72/month

Then you can dump a bunch of it in the off-season if summer sports aren't interesting.

Sling does offer NHLN, which you wouldn't technically need, although that would add another $9-10 per month.

We're nearing Black Friday, and that has historically been great for streaming deals, so it may make sense to hold out a little longer.

Video from 2 months ago on Sling TV

I don't really see the appeal of local stations right now. The shows are up on Hulu, or wherever, the next day, and the local news is free through apps. Sling TV freestream even has Tampa Bay's Fox 13.

“If Fox didn’t have the NFL, FS1 … goes under, almost,” Ourand said. “One of the reasons that Skydance paid so much for Paramount is because they have an NFL deal that extends out another decade. Traditional media companies, their whole existence relies on these sports leagues. Because of that, these leagues have an incredible amount of leverage over them and they can go and get the kind of prices that the NBA got, they can get the kind of prices that the NFL got.”
...
“Having the leagues go after (streaming), they’re going to find that the whole leverage aspect of what they’ve enjoyed for the past several decades is gonna be turned on its head, and that’s where I think that they should be weary,” he said.
CBS's popularity has always kind of surprised me. It's been seen as the 'old people network' for at least 20 years now, and that was pretty much always going to run out of steam at some point.

I don't know what Fox is doing. Maybe it's the Succession-type struggle within the Murdoch family, but they don't seem that interested in expanding the brand. It feels like they're winding the network down, if anything. They sold off a bunch to Disney, and don't have a dedicated paid streaming service (which is fine). They do own the very popular Tubi, however.
