No kidding. Brown is the most successful Kings captain in franchise history. He might not have been vocal in the locker room, but by all accounts, he lead by example.

Yeah people conveniently forget that because of that contract and the last few years. Even without he resurgence this year (due to the coaching change mind you), his contract's been paid for by those 2 shiny Cups....

Don't know if this is the best place to put this but Clague and Anderson-Dolan are both having great games at the Can Rus series today.

Give Gabby all the time he needs to heal and feel 100%, we're doing really well now so no rush..... already drooling at the thought of both Carts and Gabby helping the offense even more :scared:

Give 12 all the time he could ever need to "find himself" before he comes back. Once he gets his skating and back in line he can take his time to find his compete and then he can come back and push us over the top.

Cammy played a whole 5 minutes tonight. Laich was once again a minus 2, but knocked Gibson out of the game with the ole stick to the head on the thought I scored a goal celebration. Well, the original shot could have had something to do with Gibson too.

I kinda like Cammy's one timer... At least he can provide some secondary scoring... Think he has 3 goals on the year? I'm good if he hits 15 for the year.

If he hits 15 goals, that would be incredible. That would have been fourth on the team in scoring last year. The Kings haven’t had their seventh-highest-scoring forward (AKA a third liner) score 15 goals since 09-10, when Wayne Simmonds scored 16 on the year. Kopitar, Brown, Smyth, Handzus, Frolov, Stoll, and Simmonds all scored 16 or more - and Kopi scored 34 that year. It also happened in 05-06 (with Cammalleri, Demitra, Conroy, Frolov, Belanger, Avery, and Robitaille).

As an aside, the Kings haven’t had a 40-goal scorer since Gretzky in 93-94; the year before that, Robitaille put up 63 goals. In 90-91, the Kings had three 40+ goal scorers. Bernie Nichols scored a whopping 70 goals for the Kings in 88-89... wild.

Looking back at our most successful years (hopefully including this one) I believe that DB will be heralded as one of our truly key players both on and off the ice. I have a golden shovel that he gave me at a groundbreaking ceremony for his charity and that guy meant everything he said and did regarding his philanthropic works. I would even say that it is more of an obsessive passion than anything else for him and his entire family. Like him or not for his last couple of seasons on the ice, off the ice he is a great one.

I've always considered him a modern era Dave Taylor. Less gritty and less scoring but different eras and all that jazz.

I just don't like Amadios, Cammys , Andreoffs/Laichs ice time some games. Once Clifford , Gabs, Carter come back holy hell ! Drool

How do you put the team together when they come back? Stack the top 6 or spread the talent?

I say spread it...

Iafallo--Kopitar--Brown
Pearson--Kempe--Toffoli
Cammy--Carter--Gaborik
Clifford--Shore--Lewis

Until I see actually see Gaborik pot a couple goals, or show that he can still turn on the burners, I just wont believe or trust what he can still bring.
