Big win today for Mannheim versus HV

I checked the stats and I saw that Sweatt didn't play is he injured or was it a coach's decision?

Dennis Endras was excellent in goal for Mannheim

Mountfield also had an impressive win against TPS, is it just me or do TPS looks a lot weaker this season?

The shots on goal were 39-18 for MHK, I don't see TPS getting thru with Mountfield and Davos in their group but we'll see.

All in all it was a very good first day of CHL, can't wait for tomorrow!!!

Last year you could not watch the games but they had highlights. This year it is the complete opposite. They must have highlights, live stream, and a highlight show on youtube.
The KHL is making the same mistake by not showing games and highlights for free.
These leagues must expose there product to as many hockey fans as possible to create a demand.
Do the people running these hockey leagues know what they are doing?

Yeah, where are the highlights?

While watching the games, they even have highlights from every period right after the period. They could easily just combine those highlight clips and post the highlight video on their website.

Usually, like 2-4 games are played at the same time so it's very tough to be able to watch everything. Highlights really would help.

There are highlight reels and interviews on the official site if you go to the "recap" section of each game. Or directly on youtube.

The Champions hockey league has been great so far. Definitely more passion from stands. Better crowds, not sellouts yet but much improvement.
On the plus side, the qualification system has made the league much more interesting. The 32 team format with 8 groups of 4 is perfect. on the negative side, i still hate the big red ad on the sleeve of the jersey. It ruins the jersey. And the top scorer jersey. Just awful.
The very best addition this year is the fact that all the games are streamed live on youtube. Excellent job by the CHL. My one gripe is i hope they log the full games for later viewing. We North Americans can not watch morning and afternoon games during the midweek. Would love to be able to come home and play the game at my convenience.

Warrior has done a bad job with their lacklustre designs, but still it must be said that the overall visual appearance is not that tragic compared to many domestic leagues:

This top scorer sponsored by... nonsense they innovated in Switzerland, not just a CHL gimmick either. Hopefully with time such details will improve together with the product as a whole, now it just looks the way European hockey is.

In group D could Mannheim make the playoffs round? They had a convincing win versus HV, all three DEL teams could possible make the playoff round, they all have experienced team.

They should, right? Esbjerg is pretty much a running joke. It should be the easiest team to beat out of all 32.

The DEL teams have definitely been a positive surprise. I've considered the league to be a step below.

If anything, at this point I'd say that the SEL teams have been quite the disappointment.
