Come on, you'll be watching it. How could you pass up watching McDavid regardless of who it's for or against?
By that logic he should watch every Oilers game.

Because I am a person of principles...
...I will not watch this contrived marketing gimmicky preseason exhibition tournament. Not 1 second of it.
... I am making a principle stand.
Huberdeau is definitely among the final candidates. There's a handful of guys in the running and some good players won't make it.
The only lock is likely Scheifele. Jenner is also a guy I would for sure take, he's tough and can play on the PK.
Then you have 2 spots remaining. Two of Galchenyuk, Huberdeau, RNH, and Matthews won't make the team. Some tough choices ahead, definitely open for debate.
Galchenyuk-McDavid-Mackinnon
Gaudreau-Monahan-Scheifele
Jenner-RNH-Saad
Huberdeau-Couturier-Eichel

Murray-Jones
Ghost-Parayko
Hamilton
Murray

Why doesn't this team include all U-23 players in the NHL, why just the North Americans?
Why do they get 1,5 teams each?
For instance, Hampus Lindholm will be left off the Swedish team, but would be the best defenceman on this team.
^ I just read it now. I don't think Chia should take RNH because he's an Oiler, that would be a mistake for any GM to do.
The thing with Chia is he likes size and guys who can play a heavy game. I think him and Bowman add: Jenner, Matthews, Scheifele, and Galchenyuk up front.
Anyone know when they are naming the remainder of this squad? Many great players left and only a handful of spots. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Galchenyuk.
Does anybody know if players not selected by team NA are eligible for their national teams? I thought that was the case but now I can't remember where I saw that.
Obviously this wouldn't have any impact on Canada, but I think it's possible players passed over for this team could be wanted on the US team.

While I'm not sure I agree that Lindholm would be the best dman of those listed (Ekblad, Rielly, Jones, Parayko would all absolutely give him a run for his money imo) having a Team Europe of under 23 year olds seems like it would have been a strong idea.

Larkin-Matthews-Scheifele
Jenner-Couts-Saad

That looks like a dangerous team imo

Scheifele should definitely be there, even though there's some tough calls to be made, only 4 spots left. Matthews and Drouin are only making it harder. Jenner was also reliable for Canada and he's built for NHL hockey.
Drouin should be on the team before Matthews. Maybe even RNH
I doubt Drouin will be there simply because of the **** he pulled. Even if it's in the past it is a giant blip and 'National' teams wont want to include someone with that on his record this recently.
