Hi...continent!...you know Team Europe will be allowed SACKED players from other european teams...

...that means Toby Orr, Carl Söderberg, John Klingberg, Patric Hörnqvist, Rakell and Wennberg, or maybe a russian vet...which roughly translates to numero ocho (eight) and demotion for the next World Cup (of hockey) for you guys, junior goalie and no role players (basically four third lines)...maybe for make benefit of a european U23 team....Trump vetoing a mexican on the team??

Or, you guys have aces in pockets?

Nope. Team Europe can't have any players from Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, or Russia (and obviously not USA and Canada). So if they don't make those teams they can't play.

I'd be willing to bet that Robbi Fabbri makes the U24 team....Drouin too. I know there's only 3 forward spots left and there's a LOT of potential choices out there..but these 2 have proven they can play in big games. Fabbri is the total package. Once he gets a little stronger he'll be nearly unstoppable.

Having a Team Europe of under 23 year olds seems like it would have been a strong idea.

Those forwards look pretty damn good. Wonder how that team would fare vs NA Young Gunz?

Giant Blip??? He's just a kid who got bad advice from his agent probably...But he's playing lights out in the SLC Play-offs...So I'm thinking he's opened up lotz of eyes/ ALL is forgiven...

Best Trade That Stevie Y NEVER MADE! :handclap:

No reason not to put him on Team NA, if he makes them better...and he likely does...albeit tough competition

Even if his agent suggested it he still went through with it. The issue this brings up for Team NA and why I doubt he makes the team is the 'risk' of his 'issues' occurring during the tournament. What if he goes all diva mid-tournament? There is no reason to risk that when there are so many great options other than him. That's my take on it. Don't think he makes the team even if he probably should based on his actual play.

Re: Team Europe NA. That would make a lot of the European countries worse. Most of the guys on those rosters would be on their senior teams. This isn't the case for Team NA (for the most part).

I bet they're really regretting taking a guy like JT Miller so early. It's really gonna suck if guys like Drouin, RNH or Scheifele get left off of the team

We Finns/European teams can't afford to lose those talents.

For Finns Barkov/Ristolainen are going to be the best players, and Laine/Maatta will have a huge role too.

Really difficult to see personnally how Hubs could be left out, the guy is a true proven 1st liner in the NHL with good overall game/production.

Trocheck should be a lock and not just being a homer. He's extremely versatile, can play C or W, top 6 or bottom 6, PP or PK. He can do whatever it is you need of him and he'll do it well. Also, I think Gallant is on the coaching staff, so he'll likely be pushing for him.

If it came down to him or Huberdeau, I'd take Trocheck for this type of tournament.

Can't believe the JT Miller hate on this thread. He was the best Rangers forward for several stretches this season. He deserves to be on the team although probably not as one of the first 16.

nhl.com just posted a projected lineup.

Some commenters are asking why John Carlson and Jonathan Bernier aren't on the team. Another one asks ironically "how is McDavid going to play for two teams at the same time?"

Seriously, you should go see that article's message board. Now someone asks where Kane & Quick are.

Interested to here takes on the additional 7 players to be named Friday...

Drouin-McDavid-Mackinnon
Gaudreau-Monahan-Eichel
Larkin-Galchenyuk-Saad
Miller-Couturier-Scheifele
Matthews

Rielly-Ekblad
R. Murray-Jones
Gostibehere-Parayko
Trouba

M. Murray
Gibson
Hellebuyck

This whole Team North America/Team Europe thing is a farce, imo. I mean, are players actually gonna be trying out there?
