Defence looks awesome.
Forwards looks good but somehow weaker than usual, also very old, top-scorer for Sweden probably is Forsberg

He is not a name that screams "star" to anyone but Steen is a fairly big loss for Sweden, he is one of the better goal scorers on that team.

He can be counted on to quite consistently pull the trigger and find the net.

They will miss him.

Defense and goaltending is going to have to carry this team, fortunately for them Swedens tandem in these two areas is about as good as it gets in this tournament.

Steen will be missed, but it's not like in Sochi where we eventually lost our three best centers. This is more of an injury where someone else gets to step in and take more responsibility.

Steen will be missed with his experience and great shot, but Rik Rak is an pretty flashy and promising youngster who seems to have good confidence in himself.

Yeah, in Sochi Sweden was really hamstrung.

Losing Steen, while it does hurt, is nothing like that.

This is how I think Grönborgs lineup will look like.

Zetterberg - Backström - Forsberg
Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Landeskog - Söderberg - Hörnqvist/Rakell
Hagelin - Kruger - Silfverberg

Hedman - Strålman
OEL - Karlsson
Kronwall/Ekholm - Hjalmarsson

Maybe if Krüger goes down we can call Calle Järnkrok?

I would say Yeah or Patrik Berglund but people on here actually seem to believe he is a good player.. So I guess I'll say yeah or Jimmie Ericsson

Steen was in his best form ever in NHL when olympics played last time, but he was pretty medicore then.

He's a good role player though

What uniques defensive abilities do he really have? Playing in that role is mostly a result of not being good enough offensivly at that level. If Kruger would play in SHl he would have had a very offensive role in his team and this myth about him being a such a great player defensivly would never exist.

I think you are right about 2th and 4th line, the other lines depends very much on if he sees zetterberg as a center or not.

I think Kronwall will be playing with Karlsson and OEL with Hjalmarsson.

He's a streaky guy, but if you get him on a hot spell................he's a good scorer.

As someone said, losing him is nothing like you went through at sochi anyway so i guess it isn't that big a deal. I just think for a team that does not have the firepower several other teams have up front you need all hands on deck.

For Sweden at this time, every little bit counts IMO.

This is how I think Grönborgs lineup will look like (first game).

Rakell - Bäckström - Forsberg (forecheck)
Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson (cash in)
Landeskog - Söderberg - Hörnqvist (forecheck)
Zetterberg - Kruger - Silfverberg (defend)

Ekholm - Karlsson
Hedman - Strålman
Kronwall - Hjalmarsson

Healthy scratches: Hagelin, Ekman-Larsson & Markström
