World Cup: 2016 World Cup — Team Russia

With this stupid tourney coming up, might as well guess at znorok's formations.

If I felt a tournament was completely stupid I would not even bother taking the time to think up line combinations.


It's a dead give away, you care how the team you cheer for is going to play. You may not AGREE with the format of said tournament but make no mistake..................you care about it's results,at least concerning your team.

You will deny this of course but now I know.............you give a damn and will be tuning in, or at the very least,following it's progress daily.

Your true attitudes towards the WCOH have been exposed.

Come again? To be frank, I'm actually more interested about what formations Znorok will use more than our results.

But course I'll watch the World Cup, it's hockey, it's entertainment. I also watch pre-season KHL/NHL games too.
But this doesn't mean I'll be emotionally invested in it, nor put any importance into the results.
If we win, hooray!..we won the **** Cup!! If we lose, hooray!..we lost the **** Cup.:nopity:

I also watch mindless TV shows for entertainment, and, yes, they are stupid.

I also laugh at fart jokes, but that doesn't mean they are quality/meaningful humor.
If this tourney was a comedy it would be a fart joke.

I do also.

However, I don't spend a second of my time analyzing any of that stuff, because I know how mindless and stupid they are. I'm sure you don't also.

Taking the time to make up line combinations however.....

That suggests just a wee touch of caring.

Sorry, I am not buying what you are trying to sell here.

But no biggie, as I said, I knew you would attempt to fluff it off.
 
This tournament is ridiculous but I care more than ever. Russia has a crappy team and is without Radulov and Kovalchuk but I will literally collapse every time they get scored on. If they lose a game I will be on the verge of tears. Maybe one day, eventually, they'll win something.

Orlov can be excellent in some games, and absolutely terrible in others. When he is in auto turnover mode, he can cost you the game. Emelin is physical but has a low hockey IQ. These two together will get burned shift after shift, they shouldn't see the ice at the same time. My two favourite teams are the Capitals and the Habs, so I see Orlov and Emelin in every game. Orlov should be with a guy like Kulikov and Emelin with a guy like Zaitsev.

Why do you feel like this for this tournament? We have had the haused team for the 2010 olympics, home olympics in 2014 and home WHC this year which the people have been extra passionated about in recent time. For me it feels kind of downhill since our team sucks and there aren´t any very 'extra' interesting tournaments coming up.
I think this is the tournament that the homefans of Russia expect the least - ever(!) from the team to come up with any achievements.

That's why I think Russia will play Canada for the Cup. It is too quiet around this team.

Like Portugal at the Euros.
 
Our defense absolutely sucks. It's impossible to win anythin with such a defense. I'd prefer some young guns were taken instead. Like Tryamkin, Gavrikov, Paigin, Yarullin, even Zadorov. Yeah, we'd lose anyway, but at least young guys get some experience.
 
Why isn't Radulov in the World Cup?

Title pretty much says it all, why isnt radulov at the world cup with russia?
 
I heard they were a bit sick of his act too. Hard to know real reason, but they may not have been thrilled with his threats to go back to the NHL and this was the only way they could throw some hurt his way.
 
I don't know why, he wasn't even selected at the world championships in May. It's a mystery to me, he'd have a much bigger impact for Russia than an inexperienced and less talented player such as Namestnikov.

That was basicly my thoughts, was looking for a confirmation
 
It's just dumb. He was arguably their best player in Sochi and always plays great in international games. It'd be more reasonable to leave out Ovechkin, based on how he usually performs in Team Russia.
 
Because the coach carries a grudge for Radulov missing training camp for WHC(Because he was in NA with stuff to do with NHL).

He absolutely is good enough.

Got to love Ovechkin and how he had a large part in gifting Finland the semis of this WHC. It's frightening to think about how Finland would have done if Ovechkin hadn't come to ruin the team. Ovechkin, Kovalchuk are always fun to have on the opposing team in international competitions.
