Not sure about that. We saw another skilled hockey played in Eberle electing to skate the puck himself on every occasion he could with McDavid last year when he should've been passing to him and getting open.

Very annoying to watch, like he had too much pride.
 
Eichel wasn't even close to being the worst forward on the team. He actually played a very good 200' game but looked a little rusty in the offensive zone. He played better as the game progressed.

Love this team and will be rooting for them against everybody. Hope they make the finals.

Scheifele is considerably better than Matthews at this point. If anything, Matthews will be a drag on Scheifele. Matthews will be great, but he's not at Scheifele's level yet.

I guess context is needed. A few pages back someone wanted Eichle #1 Center. I didn't and still don't agree with him on the first line after last game. He could prove me wrong, but others deserve it more.

That's not true at all so sure. Great post.

I don't see why it's such a bad thing he didn't have his best game and others played better. I didn't and still don't think he should be first line Center if it means Mcdavid or other more deserving players get less ice time.

Next game someone else will probably have the worst game and they also shouldn't be rewarded for it.

Perhaps the line shuffle is about finding more balance on the lines rather than rewarding a player by putting him on McDavids' wing.
 
This complaining as usual will be game to game basis. Who ever has a bad night or not the best night will get smoked by HF posters. Who ever has a good night will get cheered on by their fans. That is normal..

A player will get to be a hero to a goat in game to game basis.

Very true, but not sure what this has to do with Matthews. Just because I'm a leaf fan does not mean everything is about them. We can talk about individual players without others being in the conversation.

Almost all habs fans have been whining up a storm about this team since galch didn't make it. The teams been chosen, hes not good enough for this team. Get over it.

Who are the fastest 3 skaters on this team right now?
McDavid, MacKinnon, Larkin?

Throw them on a line. If speed is the strength of this team, load it up.

Wasn't implying anything. I was responding to earlier comments in this thread suggesting Matthews should have been promoted not Eichel. Guess I should not have quoted you.
 
Everyone complaining that Galchenyuk didn't make the team, when everyone knows Reinhart is the one that should have made it. ;)
 
Draisaitl looked really good last night, Edmonton is gonna have a breakout year I think.
