Great start for Marjamäki. Every single one of his last choices were exactly how I would have chosen. So now I have a quite good feeling about the team. Of course it was pretty much a no brainer to have Laine and Aho in the team. But I saw here also a worrying amount of people having a very silly idea of Rantanen being in the team over Aho, which is really lame thinking. Please wake up and smell the coffee, who thought like that. Aho is really miles ahead of Rantanen. The skill and the confidence that Aho has is really amazing. Rantanen has only physical strength over Aho. In everything else he is clearly worse than Aho. Even the smaller rink is not a basis to choose Rantanen over Aho, as the skill difference between them is still that big.
The only player I really question at the moment is Teräväinen, as he had a really bad ending to his season, because of injuries. I doubt quite much that he will be in good enough condition when World Cup starts. If he is not fully fit by September, I would like to still see Pulju in the team (only if he is fully fit by then of course), or then Rantanen, if even Pulju is not fully fit. There's enough of grinding and defensive power with Komarov, Haula and Korpikoski already in the team, so absolutely no use to take Salomäki or Pakarinen over much more skilled and offensively gifted youngsters.
But anyway, way to go Late! Well chosen!
I btw still absolutely believe that without his injuries (and operation) at the end of the season, Pulju would have been in the WHC team, instead of Pulkkinen probably. Would have been a much better player in that tournament, if he was fit. Well we anyway saw there that Pulkkinen has really no use in the tougher games. Most likely he will not have a good NHL career, although I very much hoped he would have. Sad but true that he is way too one sided player, with practically his slapper and onetimer as his only strengths.
