:)

Slovakia has regressed quite a bit and you guys aren't really much better than Germany or Latvia. So winning an exhibition game against you is neither a surprise, nor a strong indication that Germany is going to win D1A.

HV71 U20 Christoffer Karlsen will not be on the Norwegian roster due to injury.

This Norwegian team was not god enough to win this tournament anyway. But still, a big loss for the Norwegian team though.

He will be replaced by Eirik Lavik (Boston Jnr Rangers - USA)

No. Even at this level there is still a significant difference between a team like Latvia and Slovakia. Slovakia is always in the elite division, they've never been relegated, while Latvia is an elevator team, up and down, more down than up actually, 5 years up in the last 11 years. Not to mention Slovakia can actually sometimes make the semifinals and even medal. Latvia's best ever finish is what? 9th? 10th?

Anyway great job Germany, they look like the favorites to advance.

No need to take it personally. :)

There's a large overlap in talent and quality between Slovakia, Germany and Latvia, whether you like it or not.

Around 2/3 of players from the Latvian or German team could make the Slovakian roster. Of course the games are going to be close and it shouldn't be a surprise that a German team can beat a Slovakian team that is missing some of their leading players.

Or at the very least, it's not a win that warrants the use of 3 exclamation marks. :)

You never know how things can go at the junior level and a single round robin format. I wouldn't count you out.

Having said that, Lavik has scored 2 points at EHL in 6 games. That's really not very good at all, especially considering he's 19. Is he an outlier or is depth really that big of a problem for Norway? We didn't even invite EHL-level guys to training camps, pretty sure some guys from NAHL weren't even called up.

Unfortunately lack of depth.

I don't know what is that laola tv, but I'm happy that game broadcasts will be available. I just can't believe, that Latvian National TV are ignoring junior WCh. That's really sad.

I'm pretty sure the D1A games aren't actually televized. LAOLA is an online streaming company, so it's probably going to be a single camera, no commentary, etc. For someone to televize it, they'd have to send a crew over there. And that's not cheap.

How many people would watch a junior game against Kazakhstan at 2 pm on a work day? :)

As Namejs stated, laola1.tv is an online streaming company which has been doing a tremendous job so far. Not only this division but they also regularly stream KHL and some games from DEL, EBEL etc. Many other sports too, from table tennis to football.

Generally, games are not commentated and this should be the case for D1A games as well. But they usually have more than one camera. Replays, highlights, statistics are shown during the game or on intermissions. When there is a commentator, he'll be probably speaking German, as laola1.tv is an Austria-based company.

So, I'd say that laola1.tv is actually great for that level of hockey. You just hear the sound of ice and puck hitting sticks. Feels as though you were in the arena. In fact, after getting used to watching games on laola1.tv, I sometimes feel distracted by commentators on TV.

Germany is surprisingly having some difficulties with Kazachstan. Would be a setback for their promotion hopes if they wouldn't win this. Still some time though.

Even more than that - they've been outshot and they haven't had most of the scoring chances either.

That's one of the most bizarre opening ceremonies I've ever seen. Mostly because the stands are almost completely empty.

Also, impressive win by Norway.
