So we should respect our opponents and not score more than 1 goal on them? I still have no idea what you're talking about.

And, no, we're not going to be Italian-level underdogs in the WJC and we're not going lose by 10 goals to a team that finishes second to last in the tournament.

No,we should respect our opponents and actually play hockey not try to dipsey-doodle 5 guys everytime entering the zone.

Also i never said that,im just saying that we ARE going to be underdogs and we should stay respectful, thats all.

Gz Latvia :handclap:

Austria can also be happy, because our goal was not to be relegated to the B group..
Yes congratulations to Latvia they were the best team in every stage. However, this school of thinking is what drives me crazy it's why we never get better coaches than Bader, and Werfring. Our team was one of the most talented teams this year but the goal was to not be relegated, to have a "performance we can be proud of". That's why we can't have nice things, we're ok with mediocrity. When players and coaches expect to win, and fans whine about only winning by 3 like the Latvia fans you just saw, that's when we'll start delivering more goods.

Germany squanders a 3-1 lead against Norway with 15 minutes left to see the Norwegians score the tying goal with 2 seconds left and then win in the shootout. Well done by Norway, as it likely gives them the bronze medal and drops Germany out of the top three. And while it obviously was a meaningless game (which probably played a factor in Germany's play at the end) it doesn't look good for Germany to lose like that.

Austrian hockey is not top 10 of the world. Look at the World Ice Hockey Championships, big disapointment every second year.... at least it was our first U20 victory over Germany EVER ;)

B2W awful start agains Kazakhstan....

Lol, newsflash, there are 10 teams on the elite level, so in fact, no U20 teams in this tournament are in the top 10 in the world. Also, Austria finished 9th in the 2014 Sochi Olympics if you mention the Senior level. I wasn't talking about the Senior level though, Bader is the U20 coach, Werfring is the U18 coach. Ratushny is a nice coach, I think better options exist but they cost too much or are too highly sought after, Ratushny is fine. There is not enough scrutiny though on the junior program for a faster improvement rate. It's not likely to change though, small steps are obviously being made, like hosting a small tournament, and higher attendance at games, a win over our rival Germany, obviously things could move faster but it is nice to see small steps being taken.

And yes...it seems our defensive problems haven't quite gone away yet.

Lol, there you have it, the 3 defensive weaknesses. Powerplay caused by a defender being too slow in his backpedal and unable to recover. During the powerplay a defender goes down prematurely and the weak side is poorly covered. In a nutshell. :(
