Devils fan here just checking in on Larsson. How is he doing? Hopefully his same old solid self

He's clearly a level above the other defensemen we have had so far.

I would think Klingberg has some injury he carried with him for a while now. He hasn't really been as good since he came back from his last injury. Still better than the rest but didn't really look right.

Janmark had a good rookie season and was good in the playoffs . He looked like he still has something left to give to the Swedish team this year.

Rosén has been a ghost every single game he's played with the national team. I have no idea how he made this team.

As soon the puck arrives at his stick there is a goal. The problem is...

Jimmie Ericsson will take care of it when he gets demoted. Order will be restored in the lower lines.

Hows Backlund been doing? The numbers say hes done pretty decent, but I would love to hear from some of you guys.

Backlund has been one of our best overall players, if not the best.

He's in the same group of forwards as Nyqvist, Wennberg, Omark who have been leading the team.

You can tell he hasn't been going full speed either, he's still a/the top player on this (weak) Swedish team.

So Andre Burakovsky, Mattias Ekholm and John Klingberg arrives to the squad on monday hpe they can play againt Russia they will need them even if they are tired

Big boost.

I thought I read somewhere that Klingberg didn't pass a physical? Can anyone with more insight confirm or deny that?

Apparenty he hasnt been confirmed yet by Dallas but they should give an answer later today i read

Thanks. Hopefully he comes, he's a dynamic offensive D man. Looks like he's getting a physical done and we'll know more after the results.

Why do we always have to wait so long time to get answers? And if the players come, why do they always wait 1-2 week before they play a game?

Spolied bratz...

At least Ekholm and a few others seem to wanna play every time they're asked. But it's a good question why it takes longer for Sweden to get confirmations from the clubs than other nations, maybe the federation is more keen on following rules IDK...

Perhaps they're hoping that they won't pass their physicals.

I mean, 95% of the Swedish NHL:ers are too injured to beable to participate.

Because it is easier to come in late and just play a few games. That is why I do not really like late additions, it is cheating.

I don't understand why Jacob Josefson wasn't invited.

While he's not the player he was touted to be at the NHL draft, he'd be an upgrade to some of the other players on the roster from the 2 games I saw.

(Before you rip me to shreds about being CAN, I root for Tre Kronor when Canada isn't playing them, or like this year when I don't care for the team)

Ritola:

- is used to the ice
- and to the width and length and else of the rink
- doesn't have a green card (yet)
- is from Skellefteå
- is somewhat bigger
- is paid more than average salary
- is not exhausted from a lot of games PLUS...
- had a good playoff run
- have a 45 min flight to St.P , not a 45 hour flight from La.G
- doesn't command other NHL players to be invited who makes more dough than JJ.
- was the best player on the team
- is happy whatever
- is not jet lagged
- wasn't halfassed last time
- likes russian food (red beats and soup from tallkottar)
- is not afraid of stomach illness
- is not antagonistic in approach to elite players
- produce more points
- have a positive trend
- is good to have when we face the teams in the nedflyttningsserien, or must beat Norway or Switzerland, so is Rosén

Yes, but he is a deph player and problem with filling to many spot with them early on is that it can be so that it is no room left for the star players. Once you have add a NHL-player he can not be removed. So it can be good at least to wait out the first round of the playoff.

Also, the gap between mediocre NHLers and good euro players is not thar great. I don't think a guy like Josefson would have had a significant impact on this roster. The only way players like that should be invited is if they're willing to come to the preliminary games and fight for their spot just like everyone else, bur ever since Anders Eriksson-gate, NHLers are guarnteed a spot.
