WC: 2016 Team Finland Pt. II

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Sorry for harping on this, but I can't find a thread dedicated to these kind of questions.

Regarding MTV3 Katsomo and VPN, I was doing some research and found a few responses saying that using VPN on Katsomo no longer works outside of Finland. Can anyone confirm or deconfirm this before I go ahead and pay MTV3 25 euros for nothing :P

I will prolly get katsomo closer when the games begin. If you dont know by then (like thursday) hit me with a PM and ill try to check it.

I honestly believe that Lindell will play 1PP. He was already superior at there when he played liiga last season. The amount of shots he gets to the net is insane. I remember being at the game once when Lindell played for my hometown team and I told my buddy that "probably 80% of his shots go to the net" and that is crazy number and I believe in that. Yeah, Lindell will feature on a PP unit for sure.


With the team complete, I believe they'll be:

Lindell - Laine - Barkov - Jokinen - Aho

and

Hietanen - Pulkkinen - Koivu - Granlund - Komarov

---

Or then Pokka is going to feature, but Komarov is out:

Lindell - Pokka - Jokinen - Barkov - Laine

and

Hietanen - Pulkkinen - Koivu - Granlund - Aho

---

I like the first one better, since it has clearer roles.

You don't need to pay 25€ for the Finland games. Just create an account and don't buy anything.

I'm a bit late as usual but where is Granny II?? He didn't make the cut?

So, his big bro is still better in the big rink while he has surpassed Michael in the small rink?

He was cutted from the team.

Also Markus Granlund is nowhere near Mikael Granlund in small rink game.

-What comes to MaG being cut, Jalonen said he simply had to back down on his word to him after it became clear that the Minny and the Cats duos would join. He reneged there, plain and simple. I feel for MaG even more now that we know how things were. Oh well, at least he was man enough to admit it publicly, down and square.

-Koskinen is still the team's designated starter. Saros joining did not change that.

-As a related note, Antti Raanta just signed an extension with the Rangers. I wonder if that came a couple of days too late...

KJ better get Raanta on board like immediately. Should have no problem kicking Backs out. He did it to MaG and Backs has no business being on the team in the first place.

Raanta would be the clear #1.
 
I like that Bäckström will get to have his swan song in the NT like Jukka Tammi did in 1995. I only hope that Bäckström has as good dance moves as Tammi did. :sarcasm:

EDIT:

I didn't remember that Tammi was also with the team in Nagano. Let's hope that we'll get Bäckström to Pyeongchang in 2018 as well!

KJ got Koivu, Barkov and the better Granlund (in any rink) on board. As a result, he ate his promise about granting MaG a spot.

In all honesty, MaG is nothing this team will miss, but I gravely hope that he won't become something future teams are going to miss.

I don't expect him to surpass his brother, but I still give him decent chances of becoming a player that will/would be useful for future WHC squads. My fear is that he will flip a bird to the NT due to this snub.

At least we'll have a new coach starting next season.
 
Why is Laine listed as RW? Jokinen can play both wings, they should put Jokinen to RW and let Laine play LW.
