"I don't want to sound cocky but in my opinion Finland was the worst of the big hockey counties we played against" -Lars Eller

:handclap::laugh::naughty::sarcasm:

 I guess being used to let 10 slip up the back door makes 5 seem like nothing  poor loser

I heard some insider information that he might be dealing with some kind of concussion... :(
Koivu-Granlund/Jokinen-Koskiranta-Sallinen would still be a respectable group of centres in case Barkov was out for good. Obviously it'd be a devastating blow to lose arguably the best centre of the tournament but strictly in terms of centres we'd be able to fight it through. Winger situation on the other hand would get real sketchy...

I thought this was one of the better games we've played so far :dunno:

Maybe not better, but smarter.
No need to push too hard and risk more injuries.
No need to risk Barkov playing with whatever he's dealing with.

Eller sounds like a sore loser.

Eller just saying how he feels, and have a right to say it of course. And maybe has a point in there also. Intensity was somewhat lacking and tackling was minimum after few stupid penalties. Speed was there and Finland controlled the puck very efficiently and really didn't try desperate to score in the third. It might feel that the other big opponents were better but we just didn't want to give any 3-2 or 2-1 situations in our end. Better to cycle the puck and just wait if oportunity rises itself.

It also may seem that other has better defence (which maybe true) so we better just keep opponents in corners and outside play since our strength is not enough to battle in the corners all the time.

Very good game in terms of result which was the most important thing.

I was questioning some of the decisions Kari Jalonen made earlier in the tournament, but not any more. To me, a layman, it really seemed to me that the coaching staff made every right decision in today's game.

The fourth line didn't see much ice time today, which really isn't a big surprise.

This staff can't do anything wrong.

Hopefully Canada in the final!

Patrik Laine needs to calm down so that he remains at #2! But at the same time I want him to light it up... But Toronto would be bad for him. Jets seem better with youngsters.

Tell me more about this incredible Patrik Aho? :sarcasm:

I agree with you, Toronto might eat him alive. Winnipeg would be a better city to play in to start his career :)

Finland's team play/game is at a whole other level than the rest of the top-7 nations.

You almost always find a way to smother the elite teams, despite usually not having anywhere close to the individual talent/skill.

Have to respect that, us Swedes could learn a lot from you.

For the lack of quantantity of elite players Finland will nerver be seen as a hockey superpower. And thats okay.
Its important to keep playing to the power to the max power. Some Day they will regongnize the suami Finland frozen hockey

Pretty sure canadian fans and players now care about the tournament again with their Z line up. Hope Sisu will overcome that nonsense.

The fans who post here care about this tournament and so do all players who put on the Canadian jersey. You aren't the only country with Sisu, Canadians have plenty of Sisu ourselves.

Should be a good Gold medal game. Best of luck . I'm predicting a Finland win, probably 4-1. This Finnish team is very good.

No, we are the only country with Sisu. You can call it courage or whatever.

I'm just playing around :yo:. I've been really impressed with your team. Canada is going to need all kinds of courage and heart to compete with you guys.

Can't wait for tomorrow :handclap:. I wish this tournament didn't end tomorrow, I love international hockey.

Good luck to you too. Just you though, as you always seem like a cool guy.

Snipes is the typical Canadian. Too nice! :)

Canada will come guns blazing. If Finland can handle the pressure that Canada puts on in the first period and doesn't fall 2-0, I think Finland will take it.

Talbot is really weird. He lets in some stinkers but makes really nice saves. Which Talbot will we see more of tomorrow?

Will Koskinen be able to handle the pressure of a gold medal game against Canada?

Let's see what happens! Not making any goal predictions here but I hope Finland wins it. They have been the best team in the tournament. :handclap:

yep and at the moment I have no respect for team canada if they continue with their stupid crap instead of playing the game. I have but the utmost respect for team Russia which was close to losing it and they got their minds back to the game. actually that was quite suprising. and if Finland loses well thats life and canada has earned their medal. but still I haven't seen yet better team than Finland is. tomorrow will tell. good night and game on. :yo:

Things happen in hockey games. Ask Telegin who has a fractured ankle and possibly his fibula too. If a Canadian did that he would be under attack by everyone. Better relax. Try decaf.

That's clear overstatement. Sisu is maybe most Finnish word of all of them, but Finns have no privilege over it's inner meaning and characteristic. If there is one thing to be exported for others from Finland, then it's Sisu.

Rather good article about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisu

Dedicated particularly to other small countries in The International Hockey scenes. :)
