Can anyone say what the hell has happened to Lindell in just one year??!!! Last year he was magnificent in FEL and Finland's clearly best defenceman in the WHC. He was very good and calm with the puck, and he shot very well also, and got the puck well to the crease.

Could have something to do with the adjustment process. Some players adjust NA hockey faster than others. When you have tried to adjust to a different style of hockey all year, it maybe hard for suddenly change to the old style.
He wasn't peaceful with the puck yesterday. Made too quick decisions with the puck which turned out to bad passes etc.

His passing is atrocious. Maybe it's due to the larger ice. But he has been giving out the puck left and right. Needs to calm down and actually connect those passes or we are in trouble.

Now he is handling the puck like a hand grenade and can't literally shoot the puck without hitting the first blocking opponent's defending player. And his skating looks also atrocious compared to last year. What the hell they did to him in AHL? Aliens came and abducted the real Lindell or what?

I asked the exact same question after two games. It's like he's forgotten all the basics. The biggest difference being with his awareness and first step in the own zone. It's pretty hard to believe he would have been taught in the AHL it's ok to stand still and wait for the puck in the corner and then see what's going on around you and only then try to skate. The hockey in the A is bad but it's not that bad.

I'm pretty sure Barkov doesn't have the flu. If he did, I doubt he would've been out and about yesterday with Laine. He's injured.

Anyone know which time the game is on saturday?

I think it's at 16.15, but I don't know for sure. Would be great to know, as I have a wedding to attend at five.

My guess... a stomach bug. Jalonen was tight-lipped about it, because the same happened around Christmas as well. He wanted to avoid the hubbub and conspiracy theories that would've sparked.

Great timing... gonna be plenty of distracted guests about.

I might buy that Barkov's the first victim of the inevitable diarrhea epidemic if he had been isolated from the others. However, it doesn't seem that way.

Yep. There will probably be more people checking their phones than listening to the priest during the ceremony.

Some food poisonings are infectious, others aren't.

That being said, if it's a bodily injury, I'm sure they'll use every trick in the book to tape him up and spike him full of anaesthetic to play in the next game.

Yeah, it could be a food poisoning. If it is, I hope they've identified the source and made sure nobody else consumes the same stuff.

Kukkonen will probably play in the SF (don't see him sitting it out unless he's bed-ridden), Barkov's situation is more up in the air, but I agree with you. They'll do their best to get him back on the ice.

They really need to do something for that powerplay, if we get a chance against Russia we need to use those chances.

For the last 4 games we have seen the same ...... over and over again with brutal results.

From IIHF Article: Asked if Barkov would return for the semi-final, Laine quipped: "I can do a lot of things, but I'm not a doctor."

Wow, Finland in 2022:

Barkov, Laine, Aho, Puljujarvi, Granlund, Teravainen, Rantanen, Doonskoi, Lehtera, Armia, Kapanen, Salomaki, Haula, Ristolainen, Maatta, Juolevi, Vatanen, Jokipakka, Honka, Pokka, Lindell.

Wow, this could be hell of a team.

Good win, Danes put up a good fight.

I was somewhat puzzled why Aho got benched but Laine was out there in the 1-3 situation, I think Laine was on the ice during the pressure which lead to Hansen's goal post shot. I may or may have not closed my eyes seeing Laine on the ice in that situation. Bizarre choice.

Please please please don't be injured, Barkov, or Kukkonen. Our defense might get knackered if there is no 7th D.

I do have to say Russia scares me the most, they have so much top end skill.

"I don't want to sound cocky but in my opinion Finland was the worst of the big hockey counties we played against" -Lars Eller

:handclap::laugh::naughty::sarcasm:

I heard some insider information that he might be dealing with some kind of concussion...
That would actually fit and explain all the signs we've seen.

Let's hope it's only of the "very mild" kind.
