Not thrilled about Dumba. Perry is very surprising, good for him though. He was also a surprise on the 2010 team. Also... Marchand and Perry on the same team should be interesting.

so the team as it stands:

Forwards:

Brassard, Domi, Duchene, Gallagher, Hall, Jenner, Marchand, McDavid, Perry, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Scheifele, Stone

Defense:

Ceci, Dumba, Hutton, Murray, Rielly, Tanev

Goalies:

Pickard, Talbot

anyone i'm missing?

Forwards are very strong. I'm confident in that group to take a gold medal. Defence is a question mark, young, inexperienced, and not that strong defensively, but they can be great puck movers and just good enough to win a gold.

I'm guessing that we might see something like this at forward...

Marchand McDavid Perry
Hall Duchene Stone
Jenner O’Reilly Gallagher
Domi Brassard Scheifele
Reinhart

Not sure where there is a good fit for Perry. Not going to do the defence because that group is pretty sad.

Defense looks awful and mighty thin, and TC I think always brings at least 7 Dmen. Might they wait til the conclusion of some series from round 2 to see if there is anyone worth adding then (should be around the start of this tourney)?

You would think a guy like Spurgeon would be asked.............and play.

Wonder what the story on a guy like him is?

Spurgeon and Scandella were both asked, and declined due to injury. So Canada got the Wild's 3rd best Canadian defender.

One more d man and a goalie will be added most likely.

The Finns are rounding out their roster very nicely. They are very excited about their forward group. Much like here they are not big on the defense.

So that's the scoop, had not heard that.

Although I don't know about 3rd best defender for the wild, I would think Suter,Brodin and Spurgeon take the top 3 spots.

Not a great D. Definitely the strongest forwards group in the tournament.

1 of Ekblad or Muzzin and I could live with our D. We can win gold with this group.

Canadian defender. Brodin/Suter are Swede/American

That is a very strong group up front. We need a puck mover on D so bad though.

TSN hockey insider Darren Dregger reporting TC wants to add one more d man and 1 goalie.

Good news, we are desperate for a #1 D. We get that, I think we'll defend our Gold. Canada v Russia final.

I'm really looking forward to our game against the Finns, we both look to have explosive forward line ups.

Depending on who the goalie is I would prefer to see TC name two more defensemen. But I think enough time has passed now for Muzzin and Ekblad to have made a decision. Perry knocked out last night and says yes today. Not sure what the other guys are waiting on.

Considering the depth of the rosters at this years Worlds, this group on paper is a terrific group of names.

Now let's hope they can be assembled to form a team.
