I could probably grow a beard if I really tried, but I can't stand the itchiness after a couple of days without shaving.
The itchiness goes away after a little while.

Probably going to watch it at Lynnwood Grill...

In college, probably the smartest decision I ever made was getting up and leaving when she told me that.
...AND BREWING CONCERN, thank you very much
Of course JR rides another rookie goalie to the stanley cup.
I'm not. If it's still the same JR, he'll completely ruin the Penguins over the next couple years trying to repeat the success of this year.

He won't be GM over the next couple of years. He's a retool artist and I'm not sure why anyone thought he wouldn't do well in PIT (not to say I didn't laugh at some of his moves).
JR was a perfect fit for the Pens. Making moves to win now and not worrying about the future. Win when Crosby, Malkin and Letang are in their primes and frankly, that's what any GM of the Pens should be doing. Worry about the rebuilding later when those guys are gone, but now, make hay when the sun shines.
I doubt JR will be there very much longer.
For a fun read, go read the "Is Rutherford the worst GM in the NHL thread" from 6 months ago that someone bumped now.
^^^This. I agree BBA, he's poised to ride off into the sunset.
On a related note, if JR does "retire" that likely means the Jason Karmanos steps in as GM in Pittsburgh. We've been lamenting that the Canes have no natural rival. In walks a suitably manufactured one. It would be really great if Peter Karmanos, Jr. brought his pettiness to bear just to **** his son a bit....oh, wait a minute he's doing that already with the boy's trust fund. Carry on....
Karmanos isn't the heir apparent in Pittsburgh, from what I understand - Rutherford brought him on to do the fancy stats stuff. The name I recall hearing back from when Rutherford was hired as the GM waiting in the wings is Jason Botterill, their current associate GM. They also have Bill Guerin as an assistant GM if there's some insistence on going the "ex-player as GM" route.
