I feel like the draft lottery was much closer to end of regular season last year than it is this year.

In fact last year it was on the first saturday of the playoffs. So pretty much exactly 1 year ago.

I wonder if Sportsnet pushed for it to be two weeks later in some lame attempt to keep Canadian interest up during the first round?

It's pretty hard when you have these guys in the same league...

I want to win

A lottery win would be epic. Chances are about 1000 times better than a winning 50:50 ticket on a brisk night. Still, the statistical part of my brain doesn't really consider the possibility.

A top-3 pick... that's more like one shot at the between period "puck drop" contest. That's a bit more interesting....

Looks like Chychrun Fabbro pairing from the third period last game is now a thing

The chances of us getting 1st pick is approx the same as the cumulative probability of drawing 2 pair or better being dealt 5 cards. Not great but it has happened to all of us many times.

Will be watching Hajek tonight, I think Im the only one that mentioned him with our late first or early second preferably the latter some scoffed at it. Liked what I saw from limited viewings so far so curious to see if Im really off base on the guy.

Strong first period for Fabbro with two primary assists on Canada's two goals along with steady overall play. Pretty sleepy game so far.

I want all the things that need to happen in the playoffs so are CHI pick is in reach of snagging Fabbro. Hopefully the Bruins pick a few times before us.

Hard not to think this draft could be a franchise changer.

Jets are close to building a very solid team. A high pick that turns out to be top line type player could put them over the top, Imo.

May take a year or two, but many pieces are already here and are falling into place.

If Kyle Connor lives up to the hype with morrissey helping out and maybe an additional defenseman in this years draft we could be looking pretty.

Fabbro and howden stood out for me tonight, would love to draft either guy with our late first. Chych left me wanting more tonight, as did McLeod, I could see him falling outve top ten quite easily.

Fabbro looks too good in this tourney. I highly doubt he is around with our Chicago pick which is too bad because I love his game.

David Quenneville is super small. Seeing him paired with the 6'6 Logan Stanley last Tuesday was kind of funny.

Not sure how you can raise Fabbro ahead of Juolevi based on a few U-18 games. Juolevi was an absolute stud in the U-20 WJHC, which is much hard competition.

He's also been pretty meh over the course of an entire OHL season and playoffs on thr highest scoring major junior team in the world. If you've watched the two of them play you should be able to see the difference in talent.

By the way the Chychrun Bogosian comparisons seem odd unless you are talking pre draft pedigree. They play a completely different style of game. I am a big fan of Chychrun and don't think he will be around when we pick (lottery notwithstanding) but if he is and we land him I will be really pumped. He is also very close to NHL ready IMO.

Jost and Fabbro seem as likely as Matthews and Laine based on where the Jets are likely to pick. They both look like they'll go in the 9-15 range.

There are a lot of nice talents around our Chicago pick, and yes, Boston will potentially pick twice (depending on when SJ/Chi get eliminated) before us.
