You are correct.

Looks like he'll be the #7 option if he makes it, replacing McBain. Gilbert will be the #6 replacing Greene/Schenn.

Gilbert is like the Ehrhoff signing last summer. A gamble but with little risk, if it doesn't work out just send him packing. Definitely not a sexy name but it's something, hopefully it works out.

And hows that working out for them ? Every other team lets their kids play so they can develop and gain some confidence. Kings do the opposite literally.

Toffoli, Pearson, Martinez, and Muzzin all had to work and prove themselves before getting regular minutes. Everyone except Pearson is an extremely solid contributor now, and Pearson is on his way to becoming that.
