Overall Finns have played better hockey than Russians. Well only scored goals counts. I'm sure that this games ends up for our victory. No doubts.
 
Still in our own hands to win it. But man...you have to score too with that kind of pressure. That Kapanen miss... I think it's harder to miss the net in that spot than to hit it.

This team has surprised me time and time again so I still have faith.

That's a killer formula there. All that Russian talent with a sharp coach with a good authority. It happens time to time with them.
 
Didn't create enough grade A chances for all the time we had in Russia's zone. They're defending well. Got to believe they will come through though. This team just doesn't give up.
 
Hintz has shaved half of his (teen)moustache. Taking inspiration from a field athlete whose name escapes me.
 
So, according to the comments here there has been a lot of good scoring chances for Finland to tie the game in second period, is it correct?
 
Wouldn't it be a picture perfect IIHF tournament if the game-winner is scored on a DOG penalty?
 
This Finlands team is starting look just like our mens team oh they grow so fast ;) :sarcasm:

Hintz has not been able to score and loses too much face-offs. Otherwise he is playing good and I like his speed and vision.
 
Rantanen's game looks very well suited for the NHL already. Very strong on the boards and likes to feed it to the front of the net.
 
If I'm Finland I don't change much after that period. Just stay consistent with the forecheck and bear down on chances.

I'm looking at you, Kapanen.

In the 2nd period, they were better, yes, I'll admit. But it's the score that decides in the end.
 
If Russia takes this, well I just have to say that they have been impressive. All-around great effort by the team.

I knew I liked this team for a reason.

Also, no matter how Kapanen (or any Finn) played, the level of criticism in Finland is not in the same ball park, city, district or galaxy compared to Canada.
 
Ok, Finns don't give up the hope may be they are able to turn the game in 3rd period you never know!
 
Kapanen can be summed in three words.

So much potential.

Sadly, he never delivers when the game is on the line.
