No more penalties and fix the defensive play!

No goals for us yet, but offensive play looked fine nevertheless.

Russian team playing like champions. Finns just going for fancy passes.

I'm expecting to see more straightforward Finnish team in the 2nd.

LOL :biglaugh:

Excellent

The end of the 2nd was worrisome for Russia. Bragin needs to give 'em a good 15 minute boot camp :D.

How come our goalie playing in Finnish league ? Is it like Matthews move ?

Georgiev visited some goalie summer camps in Finland when he was young. One of the hosts, Fredrik Norrena noticed his talent and I think he lured him to Finland permanently. I think Georgiev just wanted to be in the best environment for his developmen and Finland isn't a bad choice for goalies.

I'm so nervous I had to pop a bottle of Koskenkorva. I thought we Finns couldn't feel anything else the depression and inner coldness, this is so unfamiliar.

So, how is the game running so far, Russia leads 1-0 and they have more shots on the goal than Finland.

Are they the better team at the moment?

Yes. They played better. But Finland finished the period strong.

The goalie coaching in Finland and getting a chance to play in a professional league are the main reasons for young goalie talents to come to the Finnish League.

But surely that's just because Canada has hosted more?

I'm not sure what your point was. But obviously the number of being the host affects the ability to have wins as the host. Hell, some countries haven't yet even hosted 5 times. Finland has had their fair share of tries though.

And Canada would have most even with only, say 8 host tournaments.
