Kähkönen absolutely speechless in an interview in the locker room, can't say anything

Wow!

After 2014 and now 2016 a spectacular World Champion.
Finland a new title machine ;)?

You're not far off, actually, there are these three lines:

Ei laaksoa, ei kukkulaa,
ei vettä, rantaa rakkaampaa
kuin kotimaa tää pohjoinen,

In English are:

No valley, no hill,
no water, shore more dear
than this northern homeland,

(just using Wikipedia's translation which I imagine might be a little rough, a Finnish speaker can feel free to correct me)

Ok there we go. I watched some Swe-Fin game and first listening swedish anthem which starts with "
You old, you free, you mountainous north", than I listened finnish with "no hill" It just seemed to me funny. But I was probably lost in translation and this " contradiction" doesnt have in purpose,, if it is even contradiction...

Man, what a tournament, what a final.

Respect to all 3 opponents in final games. Tight and exciting games against fantastic opponents. While I am happy for winning, I still felt bad when I saw some of the Russians after the OT goal - they played fantastic game, unfortunately only one can win.

Also, Finns - some of you. Respect the opposing team and fans - enjoy the win but don't rub it in, it's childish and unsportsmanlike.

I thought people meant the original words for the finnish national anthem. Which are in swedish.

"Ej lyfts en höjd till himmelens rand, ej sänks en dal, ej sköljs en strand mer älskad än vår bygd i nord"

Or something like that. Long time ago since I read Fältskärns in swedish.

Kaapo Kähkönen is ice cold, smooth *******. That's a mentality of a champion goalie. Wild has a great prospect in its hands.

Its correct !

Absolutely devastated. Proud of the team, not the biggest names on paper, nor the best team. To go undefeated up until the final goal of the tournament, to come back in that manner was amazing.

Congratulations Finland, really entertaining to watch all throughout the tournament, will be a special team next year aswell. Well deserved winners. Now excuse me while I drown my sorrows. Enjoy the celebrations Finns.

Your team played like champions and very nearly were champions.
You should be proud of them.

GJ FINLAND!

These kids and their phones come on take the cameras away so they can take cigars and get wasted :sarcasm:

Russia gave Finland a hell of a game, and they changed my mind about their players being mentally fragile quitters. I will gladly eat humble pie on that. Just an awesome game of hockey. Going back to Detroit grinding out loser points in the NHL is not going to feel great.

Aww, happy Teemu.

Was rooting for the Finns, but Russia really compelled respect both here and in the semifinals against the U.S. They played a man's game: structured, resilient, wily, (mostly) disciplined. I also loved Valeri Bragin's "not impressed" face. Great coach.

Thank you to both nations for producing such a classic. Hockey is the most emotional of all sports imo, and this tournament will always remind me of that.
