Absolutely devastated. Proud of the team, not the biggest names on paper, nor the best team. To go undefeated up until the final goal of the tournament, to come back in that manner was amazing.

Congratulations Finland, really entertaining to watch all throughout the tournament, will be a special team next year aswell. Well deserved winners. Now excuse me while I drown my sorrows. Enjoy the celebrations Finns.

Well for every Laine and puljujärvi Canada has Mcdavid, USA has Eichel and Matthews. It's good to see Finlqnd developing great talent though.

That's correct. If Finland keeps on producing these types of talents for the 4-5 (it finally sees that Finland has fixed its junior system problems), we have a chance to really compete for Olympic gold.

You're not far off, actually, there are these three lines:

Ei laaksoa, ei kukkulaa,
ei vettä, rantaa rakkaampaa
kuin kotimaa tää pohjoinen,

In English are:

No valley, no hill,
no water, shore more dear
than this northern homeland,

(just using Wikipedia's translation which I imagine might be a little rough, a Finnish speaker can feel free to correct me)

Din sol
din himmel
dina ängder gröna

Your sun
your sky
your green meadows

Is the Swedish one

"3 Main rivals" wich other two execept for Sweden:sarcasm:?

Sweden is actually kind of falling off the map for Finland. Players who have played for the national team this season have said in interviews that they get more pumped when playing against Russia, and that those games have a special feeling to them. Russia probably doesn't care that much, though. From one unrequited love to another. :sarcasm:

That is 100% correct. I can see why that could be misinterpreted as "no lake" or something like that though.

Anyway, I'm loving this. Pulju is being interviewed right now and he is absolutely stoked, smile to years, screaming and shouting. So outgoing it's rare for a Finn :handclap:

What a great way to end a great tournament! Congrats to Finland who had a great offence this year and have a bright future ahead of them. Really hope Laine or Puljujarvi head over to the Leafs this draft, they're both phenomenal!

Hahah, love that Pulju interview, he's such a nature child type of personality.

Wow. What a game. One of the most entertaining games I've ever seen. Add in the amazing feeling of seeing your own country play.

Russia was amazing team. They should be proud of themselves. There can only be one winner and if it were Russia they would have been just as deserving.

Finland went through Sweden, Canada and Russia to the gold. Just to end it in the OT. Can't get any sweeter than that.

Kapanen 100% deserved that goal. So happy for him.

Ya if Finland starts consistently developing players like Canada, Russia, Sweden, and the US, they will be a very dangerous team. Looking forward to see what the future holds!

Hey, margins were very close in the semifinals and final, someone has to always lose. That's the beauty/cruelty of team sports.

Sans Kamenev's dark moment, your team was great from beginning to end. Couldn't have played a better team in the finals.

Till we meet again!

Sure m8:D

Finland is clearly the best country. We have the win in 2014 and in 2016. Canada is clearly behind. FINLAND!!! BEST IN THE WORLD!
