What's Linden going to do with that hockey card?

Isn't it a rule that if you have a lucky ____, you don't show it to anyone? He was passing that around before the draft lottery...

Based on Bennings hints, it sounds like #5 is the spot where he'll most likely take Juolevi.

This is why it feels like a disaster.

If we were confident that he'd pick Tkachuk/Dubois, there'd be nothing to worry about.

Just like last year with Carlo at 23 right? Smh

Gotta think Dubois will be there at 5, would assume the coilers take a dman or trade back, in which case I'd expect Tkachuk to go 4 after the playoffs he's had. Which would be A-OK with me :)

Oilers take Juolevi at 4.

Canucks trade down with the Habs (who take Dubois) for 9th+39th and take Jake Bean.

Then half of you quit following hockey.

Just trade down, who cares. If Dub is off the table, get some serious assets

It's highly likely we are taking Juolevi.

Worst case scenario.

This guy is Dan Hamhuis 2.0 If we are lucky. "good" at everything "great" at nothing.

This is the type of guy who is a good pick in the mid 1sts

lol Jueolevi isn't being given the credit he deserves here. Still wouldn't want to see him over Dub or Tkachuk, but people are just degrading Juoelevi for no reason other than out of fear we might take him.

Yes, he played C all playoffs.

That's good to hear. Makes it more likely that Benning takes him at 5 if he's available. Here's hoping whoever drafts at 4 (Edmonton or another) doesn't take him. What are your thoughts on his performance? If i I recall you har Dubois 4th right?

I just don't want him over the 2 forwards ranked ahead of him that are better players and come with size, skill and physicality.

we are drafting 5th, 33rd, and 93rd. The future is very dark for this team no matter how you look at it
It is what it is. That is why there is no point in cheering for a tank. You can thank the oilers for the prior 6 years of being a bottom team and holding the first pick four times.

Pick the best player and you can makes trades to acquire players as needed. I would think that Matt tkachuk will be available unless the oilers trade out. They either get a defense man or they take dubois to add a right hand shot to their top six, if they are intent on dealing eberle.

Have to do more research on the dmen to see what each has to offer.

With juolevi, the best comparable is maata from Pittsburgh, who at best is a #2 dman. He is solid in everything. Good passes, but not overly physical and not great offensively. I think he is very much like hamhuis in his prime.

Is that better than taking a forward?

My understanding is that sergravech has higher end abilty due to his skating.

Chychrun, he has all of the physical qualities you would want, but for the first half of the year he didn't out it all together, so there is a question if he will. Will he turn into Erik Johnson or bogosian? All the tools, but not a #1?

Bean is an offensive blue liner, but how high end is he? No one expects karlsson level. How good is his defense?
